New camshaft for my truck

Over the winter I want to get a bigger camshaft installed into my 2004 GMC Sierra Regency Edition. It has the 4.8L 5 speed with shorty headers, k&n intake with a flowmaster muffler. Any suggestions on a cam size? I don't want anything too big since I don't want to have to get new pistons as well. I just want something that will wake it up a bit.
