Got home from the wonderful brunch this morning and decided to cut the grass. Was cutting away and heard my wife make a horrid screech. I looked up and saw blood gushing from her left heal.

Make a long story short, the lawn mower hit some metal wire and sent it in her foot. The doctor just made a cut on the other side of her ankle and removed an inch and a half piece of metel.

Learn from our mistake, keep your kids away when you mow. She and my 2 year old were about 10-12 feet away when it happened. Thank god it didn't hit my kid. I mean after my wife is replaceable. =)

and yes, don't worry. I have picuures and will post the carnage up soon.

After seeing a hole in the siding of a relatives house , I always make sure the kid is away from the mower and snowblower in the winter. Hope your wife gets better fast.

Personally I would have been disappointed if my wife had screeched...I'd hope my wife would be tougher than that.

Yeah, pretty sure my wife would have yanked it out and placed the piece of metal in my skull.....then refused to make dinner.

WOW! Sorry to hear this. I hope she has a quick recovery. Discharge chutes on mowers and snow-throwers scare the crap out of me, just because of this kind of thing happening. Be glad she's not Achilles sister... :wow

Thats fooked up. When I was a kid I was cutting the grass hit a rock and it hit my brother in the mouth. He puffed up like a balloon. Glad she will be okay.

Nah, I gave her one last night.. Err, I mean she had one of those last year..

And about your post earlier, I told her it would have never happen if she had her ass in the place it should have been, the kitchen.. :rolf

Typical woman, stand back and watch a man do all the work.. :chair:

Just lucky it stayed low! As a child I heard a clunk while my dad was mowing and looked up just in time to catch a good size rock in the chest. My father saw it and kept mowing.

"Nice catch" is all I got out of that one.

wow, glad shes ok, could have been much worse though..... When i worked at the dealership, we had to govern the the motors so the blade couldn't spin over 200MPH..... (government standard) so think of how fast something can come out of that chute!
