Due to school costs I have to make a choice between two cars...

I can either keep my current '99 Eclipse GSX with a little over 80k on the car. It's in good condition with just a few performance parts. (FMIC, fuel pump, fpr, bov, intake, exhaust)

My other car is being brought back up from the south in september. Its a '92 Mitsubishi vr4 with 110k on the car, but the top end of the engine has been rebuilt and bored .20 over with over sized pistons. Car has few exterior flaws, customs seats, new clutch and a few other mods. (y-pipe, borla exhaust, and intake) However it is in need of a new rear turbo.

Just want some thoughts on which one I should keep. As of right now I am in limbo between the two. :rolleyes:

Keep the '99 but don't mod it more. It's only got 80K. If you can nurse this thing through school and a little after, you can then go buy whatever you want once you graduate. This will also still have at least 2K trade in value after you finish school, so it will be your down on your "gift to yourself".

I wasn't planning on modding either anymore than I have already done. But thanks for the advice!

Is that a Mitsu VR4 Twin turbo AWD?...Dont know much but bud had one. Ran consistent Mid 13's and great gas milage.

sell the VR4. Thoes things are nothing but a time bomb.... technically the GSX is as well, but Id have more faith in that over the VR4! Good luck!!

Yes it's the twin turbo awd mitsu. Yes, it gets good gas mileage as well even though its so heavy.

That's what I would like to do. I am keeping my eye out for a '03 or '04 that is more in my price range.(Not a wagon though!) Guess we will see what I can find and go from there.

i just saw a black 04 wrx on milwaukee craigslist for 10,500. looks pretty nice with the sti wing.

Sentimental value?

doesn't matter... sell both, drive a crappy cavalier/civic/etc... and when you graduate, buy a viper/porsche/etc... used and enjoy what you've accomplished. use that money you got from both cars to enjoy your college life instead of investing into the car. There will be more there when you graduate.

lol, oops. Well maybe I am best off as a science major and not an English major.

I work during the school year, and so far I don't have any student loans and still am doing just fine. All I need is the money from one of the cars and keep the other one. Looks like I am keeping the gsx.

which car is more logical to have?
which car is more fun?
which car do you have more money into?
which car do you think you could sell for most money?
which car are you more attached to?
or have more history/memories in? o lala lol.

make a pro and con list about the two...
its a hard decision but only you can decide what you want to do.
or put them both up for sale, whichever sells first is the first to go.

haha thanks! I think the gsx pretty much is the answer to all those questions.

Pretty sure the decision is to keep the gsx and sell the vr4. I will have it up in wisconsin and for sale about mid-septemeber.
