I'd post this in the Photography Forum but these aren't really photos of any value. Just pics of my latest winter beater. 1993 BMW 525i. Only 118K miles. Smooth as silk. Interior is pretty tight. 5 speed. Aftermarket rims. Brand new Dunlop winter tires.

Now...Is there any displaced body guy on here that wants to do a side job. There is rust on the bottom door edges. Not terrible but I'd like to nip it in the bud. If we can, I might keep this longer than Spring. I'd like to. Behind the front wheels there is some rust under the plastic cladding on the drivers side and significant rust on the passenger side. I think it might be possible to build up something underneath that cladding to attach it to without replacing the whole fender. I did find a fender on eBay for $100 including shipping, but I'd rather not try to respray the whole fender and match everything.

I'm looking to keep this skinny. Maybe fiberglass and a respray from the trim line down. Any takers?

Nice older 5-Series! I love BMWs in general... I'm guessing you got it from a dealership (from the temp plate)... Which one? jw...

I actually first saw the car on Craigslist but the listing was from Wind Lake Car Company. 2 blocks from my house! Just as I was taking delivery he was hauling in an 1988 Jaguar XJS. I think it was selling for $3950. Anyone have the need for a V-12!

And in the garage? I think not. It's home is the parking pad. The wife's Mazda gets garage honors.

And Ramrod, I've taken note. Maybe we'll talk. :)

Wind Lake Cars gets some interesting stuff from time to time...and no, Mazdas are kept outside, BMWs get the garage.:devil

I would wait to see how it does in the snow before you add money into it. Already looks good though!

Anything is made for the snow with a good set of Blizzaks

Nice bimmer!

I'd agree. At least it can't be any worse than the Mustang. I made it through 2 winters with stock Pirellis and a LOT more torque before I started getting winter cars. It should be doable.

The verdict is in from Maaco. If I supply the new driver's side fender I found on eBay it'll be $1K. Since my lottery tickets didn't come through last night, will have to start up that lemonade stand again.

Car lloks good. Manual is always fun in the winter

I have a friend that had an '05 5 series with the deep dish rims, that looked nice.
