I'm trying to find a place to bow hunt somewhere within a half hour to an hour of greenfield. Hoping to take the kids out and see how they handle it but don't want to be too far from home if they start getting antsy. :goof
Just checking if anybody has or knows anybody willing to let me do this. I''m very respectful to both people and land. I use a climbing treestand so no trees will be harmed, and when I'm with the kids, it will be on the ground.
If need be, I'm willing to trade a little labor time(with in reason) for the hunting opportunity.

Any help or tips are greatly appreciated!!

Thanks:banana

There's a bunch of public land out in Waukesha County. I know that isn't much help but I don't know of anything around here.

there are some mountain bike trails out by the elegant farmer in kettle moraine that i used to hunt with my dad and brother. shotgun only area. only bad part is some of the mountain bikers don't understand blaze orange and they mountain bike the trails in brown and white. nice land for beginners though.

Lol, thanks guys. I've hunted all the public within an hour and a half of home, I know of some good spots, just too long of a walk for the kids and as most hunters know, MUCH tougher to pattern and see deer on a regular basis. Just looking for private land that doesn't see many people.

And for the golf courses.........I can only wish!!!! I grew up on 83rd & Lisbon and would go shining for deer in currie and hoyt park and holy crap the size of the deer!! Unfortunately, not legal to hunt.:(

putter?

I wonder if you can apply for a special permit to bow hunt when the park hours are closed. I was watching a show and they do that in MN
