This is my friend Steve's Cobra. It doesn't get much notice at car shows because there are a lot of Cobra kit cars around and most people haven't got a clue what this engine is. His is an ERA replica special ordered for this engine. This particular 427 SOHC engine originally belonged to the late Mike Marinoff. Mike used to drag race gassers back in the 60's and had this new-in-the-crate 427 still laying around in his shop when he died. Steve bought it from Mike's son when he sold off the business. (Marinoff Engine Modification) He's gone through it, changed a few things ade some improvement, but overall, it's still an original cast iron Cammer, not an aftermarket aluminum copy. Yes, those are real magnesium Halibrand wheels. IMO, this is the nicest Cobra in this area.

It looks like "just another cobra kit" until you look under the hood. Daaaaamn.:wow And Im'm a fan of solid color cars. Black looks way better without the stripes.:thumbsup

And I thought the one I saw at Woodward this weekend with a Termy motor under the hood was awesome. Well, it was, but not as :wow as this:thumbsup

That's a nice ride. There's one locally with a Ferrari V12 in it, IDK if it's ever gotten road worthy.

Its hard to miss the genuine Halibrand knock off wheels, at a glance few people use old style re-usable oil hose at the cooler, most opt for anodized stuff not built in that era on there plastic bodied kit cars. Car looks great, no mistaking it.

That car looks exactly like one I did chassis and tire work on at Pomps 15yrs ago, if so was bone stock then and not as shiny.
