So Forza is coming in Oct. I'm already pumped about it. Over 400 cars over 200 events to race. including circuit, oval, Drag, Drift and timed events. The graphics are awsome. This is on my top list of games this year to get along with COD MW2

Just played the demo. Looks amazing. Feels great to flip a car. Only complaint is no realistic tire smoke. Idk why but every racing game has the smoke that just disappears right away. Am I the only one that wants my car to be completely hidden in a giant cloud of smoke after some donuts?

Totally agree, there are defiantly some things that I wish were a little more realistic. I've always thought tire spin was unrealistic and it seems better in the demo. Hopefully you can actually make a challenger do a wheelie like the opening trailer.

Just played the demo a little more. One minor detail I noticed, the human driver never takes his hands off the wheel to shift? Even PGR3 had this. Lame.

Also, replay should have more options, no picture mode. Game should still be great but it's still not perfect.

The greater the detail the greater the strain. Smoke is all particle base, so to make smoke there is millions of particles. the card renders each and every single one. Not just the ones you see.

I played for about an hour. It is good, but the drag racing seems it was made by guys that have never been to a drag strip.

I have a 900hp Fox body that runs in the 12's at 144mph.:rolf I got my ass handed to me by a focus!

I got my Fiat 500 :D Actually it was the first car I won. Once you figure out the menus (they are confusing) it all comes together on how to upgrade your car and whatnot.

My main complain was the damn "Auto Brake" assist... when I first started playing, I was like WTF? Talk about making it too easy. That got turned off real quick.

I still haven't gotten far, only played for like an hour.

Indeed. You have to take the photos from either the pause menu during a race or off of a replay. Then you have to upload them to your storefront which also puts them onto forzamotorsport.net under your "my forza" link once you are logged in.

game kicks ass, i've been playing it almost non stop since 1am monday.

i'm about 50% done with the game so far and i really like it.

it seems a little "short" and i don't like how they took some wheels/aero away from the game but other parts makes up for those for sure.

i can't find competion drag racing/drifting yet though?

the drag racing is under the sedona track. i think its a cool game. only got to level 8 so far. i dont like the fact that the load screens are white and alot of the words are in grey lettering. maybe its easier to read on a nicer tv.

i took the turbos off and put the biggest twin screw on with an intercooler lol now its 500 hp and managable. i agree with the drag racing. Anyone figure out how to use the clutch yet? theres a button for it but it does nothing

No, it didn't come with them. I think they are a 2008 "E" thing. But if that is a 2008, it has the wrong wheels on it.

Its a sweet glitch! You have to put any kind of regular painted wheels on the car first and then switch to one of about 5 chrome wheels that it shows up on. Just play around with it, I dont which wheels they were.

its hard to explain, you actually have to trick the game into doing it. Its not actually supposed to happen. You have to install a wheel that is fully painted whatever color you want first. The installed a chrome wheel and it just does it by accident. My friend says someone has a video on youtube about it now.

this game is damm addicting! I am really not a fan of the rewind button though but the damm cars this time around are so much better! The T/A actually drives well compared to how the SS was in the last game. Any power in that thing and it would just slide and spin out all the time, now with a ZR1 upgrade and barely any tuning this thing stuck hard even under wot and the cars sound different and so close! I love the sound of the roots blower on the Mustang, the LS7 motor and the turbo sound on my IS-F....badass game! Gonna retire my dvr for a while.lol

As for the game, its not the best I've ever played but that's because I've got a ton of hours behind the wheel on GTR, Race, and some other pc racing sims. But for a 360 game this is dam good!

As for the rewind button, while it makes the game less realistic, it sure is helpful when you start driving some of the crazy-fast cars, and switching between insane-fast and stupid-slow for different events.

Case and point, last "season" I was racing in a 2-week event with my R3-class Mustang... but the championship was in my C-Class Fiat. The first lap with that Fiat I was so used to the Mustang that I must've went off course a thousand times.

I haven't tried the drag racing yet.

I'm starting to wonder how many people use the "auto brake" assist when circuit racing, seems like some people are just unbeatable.

I admittedly switched the "best line" assist back on to "brake only" and my racing has significantly improved.

I'll start setting up a drag car soon.

I can't use a stick on racing games except when drag racing or arcades (like Cruisin USA). I guess I'll just have to suck.

Tried drag racing, and Jesus the Datsun 510 owns the drag strip. I have been working on a Porsche 914/6 drag car setup, and it looks promising. I've gotten it down to a 10.499 with minimal tuning (using a stick), and the motor still has a lot room to build (ran out of money lol). I should be able to break the 9's with it once I get some more cash. I suppose I should do some offline racing.

The old-school Golf is pretty quick too.

Only assists I'm running now is tcs and manual trans w/o clutch. I can't stand using that button for the clutch. Also there's no way I can tame some of my cars without the TCS on :rolf I love not having stability control on.

just bought the game. stupid Microsoft. made me download an update for live, I'm ok with that. then after my 360 restarts it has to apply the updates which is scheduled to take 12 minutes. seriously wtf?

I only signed in to get the additional content. Why do they have additional content already when the game just came out last Tuesday? Why not have it already in the game?

Grrr, can't wait to actually play the game.

Is it me or is the text in this game way too small and hard to read? My TV is 32" but it's a CRT so it's a little old but nothing terrible.

Main upgrades for this Forza over the last is the drag racing, ability to roll/flip a car, and finally interior view. Still far from the "perfect" racing sim that it always claims to be.

No aerodynamic upgrades (realism).
Car should be painted to look like an old Trans-Am racer.

'70 Mustang- E 252

I've only done about 2-3 hours of season play. I spend half my time on free runs and dicking around, crashing cars, donuts, etc. The Bugatti is insanely fun. All stock it's running 10.227 in the quarter. I only spend 1-2 hours tops a day playing it though.

We ran Forza 2 tournaments on everything from muscle cars, to fwd sport to you name it. You really want to keep the number of available cars though down to about 4 or 5, not all of those you mentioned.

finally picked up an xbox and forza on saturday. been a long time since i have been in the videogame field, but so far forza is ok. didn't blow my socks off like i thought it would. feels like you average racing game with great graphics. loading times are horrible but it is worth the wait i guess. got it hooked up to my plasma and it looks and sounds great! the customization is cool. nothing like throwing a 5.0 cammer motor in a focus, LOL!

have been doing the season thing and am up to the level A cars. got a badass focus RS and a cobra R! i find myself crashing into other cars a lot though?!?!? not sure if it is my bad driving, or the fact that the AI doesn;t seem very aggressive?!?! fun game nonetheless, and as soon as i polish my skills and figure out how to not smash into the car in front of me in every corner, i will be up for some live action, LOL! would hate to jump on with you guys and turn it into a demo derby.

I hate how every race you have to watch the stupid car pull up and rev the engine. Then you only have a split second to get your rpms right for launch. Oh and yes the bloody loads time. I wonder if installing the game to the hard drive would help.

The answer is yes... do it nooow! Helps load times quite a bit, but you still have to have the disc in the tray to authenticate and boot.

From the Xbox Dashboard "My Xbox" menu where it says "Play Forza Motorsport 3" click "Y" for "Game Details" and the from that menu click "Install to Hard drive".

It will take a few minutes, but its not too bad. Make sure you have about 7 gb of room on your hard drive but you should since you just got the 360.

I was just practising and tuning the Poncho. I managed a 1:46:xxx at Laguna Seca, and a 1:47:0xx WITHOUT any time penalties for going off course. My times at Sebring were 2:35-2:37ish

This should be a good race. At least for us :goof

except I am not very consistent. That 1:47.3 was just my best of three laps two of which i wrecked on.

I keep blowing all my money trying to build the ultimate R3 street car. Sofar I've got a C6, GT, and just finished a Mines Skyline. Sofar the GT is my fav. The highspeed stability is amazing. Plus the blower whine is sick too. I did build a R3 C5 which always wanted to kick the back out. The C6 with wider rear tire was much better.

So anyone know why when you are in car view, that half the time it shows you far enough back to see the side and rear view mirrors, but the other half it doesn't? There is only one in car view (I use it every race), and every other race it seems I can't see half the rear view and none of the side view mirrors. Wtf?

If you press up and slightly to the side on the joy stick you can check the rear view mirror as long as the side mirrors. I love using the in-car, especially on the 70 challenger(my most used car)

This game is good but far from revolutionary. No night races? No rain? No snow?

I noticed your driver will shift if you are in the behind-car view but once you go to in car view, he doesn't shift... weird.

Actually if you get a good group of guys running similar cars (i.e. stock cars) the oval racing is pretty fun, IMO. But otherwise it sucks.

acually if you play with tom he'll PIT you and spin you out down the back straight with 2 laps to go and you'll still have time to chase him back down and put him in the wall. well he did it to me lol:rolf

well I finally figured out how to use the clutch and man is it fun. I just kept loading the same 600hp AWD drag event and kept doing rounds with my 70 challenger, and I picked up like 2 tenths doing it with the clutch on.

And now the bad news. I’ve been working with Fred on cracking down on those who have abused the credit glitch that was recently fixed with our last title update. As of today, we have isolated a group of about 1700 players who show up as having cheated. While it does seem overly harsh to ban users for taking advantage of a loophole that we inadvertently created, glitching and cheating does violate Xbox LIVE Terms of Use: “In using the Service, you may not exploit a bug, or make an unauthorized modification, to any software or data to gain unfair advantage in a game, contest, or promotion.” Moreover, it bums me out because glitching millions/billions of credits does a disservice to our online economy – drives up inflation, makes unicorn cars next to impossible for the average gamer to bid on, and so on and so forth.

Which is why we’re cracking down on credit glitchers and we’re cracking down hard. Starting this evening and all through the weekend, we will be putting up Ford Focus RS for 10s and 100s of millions of credits as an amnesty program for glitchers. If you have gotten credits by cheating, we know all about it and have all the numbers. If you don’t want to get banned next week, I encourage you to go and get rid of your credits by purchasing one of these Ford Focus RS put up in the Auction House by Gamertag “TurnTenStudios”. Do not accept imitations or buy a Focus RS for millions of credits from any Gamertag other than “TurnTenStudios”. Purchase the Focus RS that is appropriate to the amount of credits you glitched and your name will be taken off the list for banning next week – but be sure to stay honest because we’re actually running another scan on Monday to see the outcome. Either way, it’s a chance for folks to come clean and start over.
