Cell Phone Troubles

I have US Cellular and bought an LG Rumor but it is still tied to a number (can't make outgoing calls with the phone and when you call the phone it says number disconnected). When I try to switch from my phone to this one I just bought, they say they can't because the previous owner still has the their number tied to the phone. I tried both customer service and in store, nothing they can do.

So am i basically stuck with a phone? I have no contact info on the previous owner (guy I bought it from bought it from her) so I'm shit outta luck there. Any ideas?

Well go in to that phone get the # and close the account. That should take care of it.

I can get the #, but I can't close the account because it's not my #. It's still tied to some girl from Milwaukee. I can't get her name or email or anything.

dan hit it on the head the phone is still tied to an active line that the bill needs to be payed on when i bought my blackberry from cl the guy even went with me to hook it up to prove the esn was clear

my cousin works for us cellular. I will ask him tomorrow if anything can be done. He is a district manager or something like that.
