I am looking for some good spots to take some pix of my Trailblazer SS and my Grand Prix GTP, and I was wondering if any of you had some good ideas? I'm looking for not only country spots, but also sites in the city (any city) which may offer some cool features to photograph next to. I live in Walworth County and work in New Berlin, so I can travel a little for a good spot (Milwaukee, Kenosha, and Racine Counties are fine). But anywhere you guys can think of would be considered.

Let me know if any of you have any good ideas.

I tool this on south Shore Drive in Milwaukee, just south of the South Shore Pavilion. Shore Drive dead ends there (3000-ish South), east side of the street is the lake. Not sure if you can capture the skylike/lake and a car parked on the street. I'm going tomorrow to find out.

Bender park in oak creek, you can get shots with the water in the background. Go on a blue sky day and you can get blue water in the background :)

Nagawicka Park - Delafield right off of 83 as you go North from 94.
This park also has a lake that is a great spot. You have to either have a park pass or pay the $3 to get in, but it was worth the photo shoot.

How about the old building behind the JET car wash in Delavan? I believe on the back side of that building there is some graffiti that might look cool. The dog track has some good spots like the old water tower that is right after the bridge over 43. There is a spot in Elkhorn, its a power station thing on W Centrailia and S Broad over by Stans Lumber.

Hey, GREAT ideas!!! I can picture the building behind the car wash now. I'm gonna stop tomorrow night on my way home and take a look. Forgot about the dog track. Don't think I'll be bothering anyone there. ;-) Bet I may be able to get some pix at the airport by LakeLawn too. Maybe on the runway?? Maybe?? :-)

Wheels are spinnin' now!!

How did your pics turn out?

I was driving back from the Hot Rod Power Tour and used my camera phone to scout out some locations. This was in the early evening. I want to return to some of these locations in the morning to get better lighting. I know some are crap, but these were my rough drafts:

Art Museum / Calatrava

i've driven around delavan/elkhorn/etc ALOT so i'm always looking for a new spot. i plan on going down by the sewer plant some night as the "old" part of that has some pretty cool buildings.

the deaf school has some neat spots too. Lake Lawn is a pretty good spot but sometimes the security will not allow you to be there. but i'm friends with some security.

there are some spots on hobbs drive that are pretty good too. i'll post more from the area up soon.

I found Panoramio.com which is an extension to Google Maps. This gives you Pictures taken from scenic sites around a Map search. You pick your area, search the images, then it shows you where the picture was taken and gives you directions to the spot.

Seems like a good possibility you can find some places in Walworth Co.

I think it would be neat to get pics around the abandoned areas of Northridge Mall or the dog track off I-43 near Delavan....the weeds/overgrowth and abandoned large buildings might make for a neat backdrop for a cool car. Not sure how to sneak in the gated off Northridge crap though.

There is a little park on the river in Big Bend, and the bridge over the river in Big Bend would be pretty good on a light traffic day.

I'm driving up NW of Appleton tomorrow morning for camping. Since I was going to be driving the length of Lake Winnebago, I thought I might try to grab a decent pic somewhere. I found a few places where I think a car can be driven up to the water:

Driftwood Beach Rd
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=5700+driftwood+beach+rd,+brothertown,+wi&sll=43.99126,-88.324611&sspn=0.049833,0.045233&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=16&iwloc=A

Ecker Lakeland Rd
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=5496+ecker+lakeland+dr,+brothertown,+wi&sll=44.000733,-88.323469&sspn=0.006228,0.005654&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=16&iwloc=A

Qunney Rd
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=quinney+rd+and+e+winn+rd,+brothertown,+wi&sll=44.013559,-88.320229&sspn=0.006227,0.005654&ie=UTF8&z=16&iwloc=A

Stockbridge Boat Launch
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=1913+west+st,+stockbridge,+wi&sll=44.070922,-88.329134&sspn=0.006221,0.005654&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=16&iwloc=A

Calumet County Park Boat Launch
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=calumet+county+park+near+harrison,+wi&sll=43.048466,-88.096537&sspn=0.101235,0.090466&ie=UTF8&ll=44.104629,-88.327042&spn=0.006217,0.005654&t=h&z=17

But I'm not sure what the sites will look like. Anyone grab decent pics on Winnebago? If so, where at?

I love the 281 at the Train cars looks super sweet, but the Cederburg covered bridge has a little soft spot in my heart, cool pics, I wish I had a cam when I was there
