Anyone who saw Transformers and was let down, just know they are not trying to steal another piece of your childhood.
G.I. Joe was good!
I really enjoyed it. Not too corny, but still had enough inside jokes to keep us fanboys happy.

I won tickets on facebook to an advanced screening, the tickets said if you dress up you could win a great prize pack.

I dressed up....
.

..

...
I'm new here and it's taking a lot of guts to post this pick, because now I'm officially outed as a dork.

I was the only one fully dressed up.

Shipwreck, who as of last year was in the script, but they cut him out to use for the sequel, rumored to be played by The Rock.

And oh, I won the prize!

Hilarious!

I'll probably watch the movie more for the curiosity/blockbuster factor more than anything. I enjoyed the cartoons as a kid, but never really got into the action figures, comics, or anything else.

i loved the cartoon as a kid, but have no want to see the movie. not only to the previews look horrible, but the whole GI Joe not being an american soldier kind of pissed me off.

Yeah, the previews looked bad, I went in expecting crap.
I honestly probably would not have gone to see it in the theater except I won the tickets.
I was surprised at how good it actually was.
I think it's worth seeing it in the theater, I might even pay to see it again!
I'm not really that big of a dork, this was a big jump for me, because I thought a lot of people would do it.
I learned my lesson, never again.

I'm probably going to go today if the rain keeps up. I was a huge fan as a kid. Read the comics, watched the toons, had a bunch of the toys (still have the air craft carrier in my folks attic).

I didn't have much hope for the movie based on the trailers, but the reviews I've seen have been pretty decent. And they were mostly from people who agreed that Transformers 2 was terrible.

Awesome! I wish I had a shower gel that made me smell like war and ninjas.... I am jealous.

I will have to see this movie next week when I get some time.

Went and saw it today. Was better then I expected. Liked it more then Transformers 2. I'm not loving how they screwed with characters back stories and tied together so many people. That bothered me being a fan.

Baroness and Scarlett were pretty damn tasty though.

I could get into the first one, the second one was pushing it.

Besides, I think Transformers was made for a bit of a younger audience, G.I. Joe has actual death and blood, not tons, but for a bit of an older audience.

GI Joe has the same mindless action. A bit better story and characters, a little bit worse CGI. In place of Megan Fox, you get 2 hot chics wearing tight outfits.

It's a check your brain at the door summer movie.

I think the biggest difference is no JarJar Binks type characters, of which Transformers 2 had several of them.

I just take the movies for what they are. Movies. They don't need to be based 100% on the old shows. I agree part 2 did have jarjar type characters but i still liked it. If the action is decent with a ok plot line then i can get into it. I don't expect them to be oscar type performance movies. Lol

I don't either for these types of movies. However I just thought number 2 was just really really bad, especially with how good the first one was.

It's probably alot to do with hype. I had huge expectations for #2, and zero expectations for GI Joe.

What ? People die in the movie? Nobody ever died in the cartoon, always a parachute from the exploding plane:rolf

I'm looking forward to seeing it. IGN gave it a really positive review actually. Which surprised the hell out of me.
