I am installing a fuel sump in my Mustang and after a passes with the welder I can not get rid of the leaks. Do I keep welding and grinding till they are gone or is there some type of sealer I can buy?

How bad are your leaks/welds? there are tank sealants out there ... i've always got mine from napa..u flush tank with MEK then plug all the holes except the filler and pour the sealant in and tip the tank all kinds of ways until it sets up. Can't remember brand name but it comes in a metal container that looks alot like pvc cement...

but good welds dont leak

My first set of welds looked good, but I have pinholes where I started and ended my weld bead. Not to mention the odd contours of the tank that I am welding on.

Ah, this is in your older mustang. I forgot that you got that. I was thinking you still had the mercury. How is the project coming along? (other then this problem :))

Got it to stop leaking. Just needed a few more welds. It seems that I have a bad habit of turning my Mig into a plasma cutter when it comes to thin metal.

I didnt want to reuse the stock tank but since I am running on fumes (money wise) I sumped the old one.
