Woke up at 5 am.. Thought I would get some on-line game time in before the kids woke up.. Logged into the game (DAoC) and noticed my chit was crazy slow.. Ran a test at speedtest.net.. Came up with .60 mbps.. WTF? I have U-Verse and pay for the 8 mbps package..

Get into an on-line chat w/ an AT&T tech.. Conversation goes something like this..

Tech: Ok, were gonna do some trouble shooting..
Me: Let me guess, reboot the PC right? Just kidding.. =)
Tech: Actually, let's start there..
Me: But if I reboot this PC won't we loose this little chat we have going here?
Tech: Oh yeah, that's right.. But I can always call you if so.. Please tell me when your computer is back up and running..

Does your workstation have a NIC that supports speeds bigger than 1gig? If not, then all your bandwidth is for naught.

Speed test to router regardless of speed is useless in the comparison to what I tested against.

Only certain things impress me. That doesn't.

So then your workstation itself have 2 10 gige NICs. Then go for it and run the speed test. Should be interesting to find the slowest port that the Germantown location has.

I was having an issue with TW internet not working so I called tech support and it took 3 tiers of service techs to tell me that I had pushed the stand by botton on top of the modem I have. I use to have to unplug my cable from the modem once in awhile to get it to reset or something when it wouldn't work and when I had did that I pushed the button and didn't know it.
