What can i get away with getting to bolt up a moser 9" under my car. can i just get away with the axle, Adj. torsion bar and a drive shaft? or what else do i need at a bare min. just to be able to drive the car down the road? i've been saving money here and there but its just not adding up quick enought for me to get all the things i want before winter. So i need a list of where i should start.

Isn't the S60 considerably cheaper than a 9" swap on an fbody?

I would just go with a moser 12 bolt. What you need is a new drive shaft, New torque arm, adjustable panhard bar, adj lower control arms. This is what I all did. I would keep saving until you can get it all. You can find a lot of this stuff on ls1tech.

i already got the panhard bar cuz its lowered. isn't the 12 bolt suposed to start whineing on a 6sp car. I was just set on geting a 9" with 4.11 gears

After doing some quick research i forgot about the new M9 housing moser has Priced one out and think i'm going to go with it when i get the cash it comes with everything i'de need minus Adj. lower control arms. and is only $600 more then the standard 9" axle priced the same way seems cheap at $3800 just need the dough first :goof

Just do a S60.. just need the S60, driveshaft and torque arm of choice... No adjustable lower control arms, no panhard bar, etc...

If what you have now is centered front to back, left to right, then the new S60 will be too...

Also the S60 is much stronger than any 12-bolt and a bit stronger than a similarly setup 9"... It also has less parasitic loss than a 9"...

Also, price-wise, you are talking like $3200 or so for everything including a decent $400 torque arm... $2400 for the rear, $400 for driveshaft, $400 for torque arm... then add on shipping...

ANY rear will whine if not setup right...

Do an S60 about the same price as a 9 inch except s60 is lighter than a 9 inch. Look in section in the bottom left corner. http://www.strangeengineering.net/catalog/index.html

S60 or 12 bolt, fuka 9 inch in a 4th gen, may as well get the sledge out to "clearance" the floor pan for the torque arm, unless you go with that baller M9.

I like that the torque arm mounts on top and bottom vs the side, so that should make for a much cleaner install. But weren't you just trying to sell the car?:goof Probably should step up from that stock tune then too:thumbsup

lol im pretty gentle on any 10 bolt car, and besides tuning doesnt require pounding the tar out of it which is contrary to popular belief. If you are going to change gear ratios then hold off till afterwards because the speedo will need recal'd. josepy however proved to us all the 10 bolt isnt so fragile after numerous multi-gear burn outs and and 25 mph 2nd gear reverse drops leaving about 60 foot of J hooks behind:rolf

But, but, but according to Forest you need to beat the hell out of the car doing burnouts etc... to get a good street tune??????? :goof
