And also to American Family insurance agent Mike Dalton.
Some of you will recall the GTI winning a fight with a deer in Minnestoa back in late May. While it won, it nose was a mess to the tune of $4500 and not driveable. So a small town shop was used in MN, at the adjuster's advise, to fix it up. Long story short, after having the car for a month we get it back with an aftermarket fender that doesn't fit, paint that is so full of black specks, dimples, etc that you wouldn't know where to start and just overall terrible fit and finish.
Take it to Mike Dalton of American Family who immediately handles getting it repaired right, to the tune of an extra $2200 on American Family's bill.
Fisco Auto Body does the work beginning on Monday, they even pay for a rental directly. Since they know VWs I have them replace the OEM bumper with an OEM VW R32 bumper, easier to do it now than later. They discover all sorts of things that were done wrong in MN and even go so far as to go up to Boucher to measure the lines and gaps on a duplicate car to make sure they are right.
Fast forward to Friday night and the car is done. It looks incredible, the guys at Fisco really did a damn nice job. Paint is a good match which this one can be a pain since there is a hint of pearlescent, all the lines are good...just overall a wonderful job by them.
A giant thanks to Steve, Mike and Wendy!
