Recently I got into a little accident with my car. It dented the hood and put a crease in it so now I need to buy a new hood. I was considering a carbon fiber hood but am really unsure about the looks of carbon fiber on a black car. So do you think that a cf hood will look good on a black car? The hood will be an OEM style.

carbon fiber hoods are gay on daily drivers, too much work to maintain and the look isnt right unless you have a ton of carbon accents to go with it.

They can be, but it doesn't sound like he plans to paint it. Even so, most carbon fiber hoods don't line up for crap

leave it bare CF and roll with it... i love the way it blends in with the rest of a black car until you get up close enough to notice the details...

and CF on a DD is fine if you put in the effort to take care of it.. i DD my 2002 neon with a CF hood for 4 years...

I like my CF hood, but then again it isn't daily driven. If you can find a quality one, then go for it. If in time you don't like it, you can always paint it down the road. Make sure it has a good clear coat on it to protect it for daily driver use and that you have good mounting hardware (please don't go for the muscle car hood pins).

As far as CF on a black car, it does look nice. I've seen some people paint a good part of the hood black but leave some accents unpainted so you can see just a touch of the carbon fiber material. If the CF hood available for your car includes the OEM body lines/molding then you can use that to your advantage.

The car isn't really my dd. Hell I only drive it maybe 2 times a week. I was thinking that if I didn't like the way it looks then I could paint it. Thanks for all of your opinions.

I like the look of carbon fiber but the fitment almost always sucks which ruins it. so just get an oem but if you do get carbon fiber have it be a oem style.

I know people paint CF, but how durable is it? I have seen CF motorcycle helmets where the clear coat on the CF cracks easily. Like a 6" drop would chip the clear coat.

I would stick with the stock.

If I go with a CF hood it will be oem style. I painted a hood on a cobalt in forza 2 but for some reason I can't get to there site to show you the pictures of it.

Just buy a new car. :goof

Just kidding, but I think if you got just an OEM style CF hood and you keep it clean, it'll look real good.
