well, almost done! 4 years in the making and the old man is FINALLY almost finished building one of the most beautiful street rods around. Not sure when or where he'll debut the car locally (it will be at the Louisville Streetrod Nationals in 2 weeks), but the car WILL be at the new Wednesday Night Classics cruise spot, Saloon on Calhoun (formally held at Pistol Petes), sometime in August.

long story short? too many people complaining about Pete, too many people complaining about late model cars being excluded. Pistol Pete's parking lot was too small to accomodate the WNC "core group", which is classics, rods, and customs. The new venue will allow us room to allow late model cars to join with the others.

Is this the one that you used $1200 in sand paper on? lol

Car turned out nice, I really like the interior.

Chromed wood? WHAT? What process did they use to cover that? I have seen XXX chrome plastic on sport bikes but WOOD? Hrmm

I know on the plastic the shelf life is about 3 years in the sun before it starts to discolor.

it's actually MDF, medium density fiberboard and it turned out mint!

I got a good laugh at your $1200 in sandpaper comment. :thumbsup The guy who painted the car actually did use $800 worth on a streetrod he was building for the Riddler...that's a crapload of sanding!

For those who want to check the car out, we'll be at the Sussex Rod and Pistons show August 15th. If ya see a big fat dopey lookin' dude, make sure you introduce yourself, would love to meet some of you guys.
