Chrysler is now offering 4500 Customer Cash on top of the 4500 government rebate program. Will Ford / GM follow suit?

pretty much any vehicle that gets a combined 22mpg or better, provided your old car gets no better than 18mpg....or if the truck/suv your trading in gets 2mpg worse than the one you're buying.
it's something like that...very convoluted, I don't know.

all that means is that the rebate is $4500... you'll see the "normal" rebates go away.
its a good marketing ploy if they can work it right. "let's give back the money we'll take from the taxpayers" hahaha
i wonder if it's on ALL vehicles or if it's on just select vehicle(like the trucks and more expensive cars) $4500 rebate on the caliber would make that a dirt cheap car.

When you go to dodge.com and select Dodge Caliber, this is what comes up:
MSRP* Starting at $17,090
Government Voucher up to -$4,500
Customer Cash -$3,500
Your price: $9,090
I don't see it as JUST a marketing ploy, since 3500 off a new vehicle is a better then an employee discount in most cases.

You also still get the employee discount on top of all that...

One hell of a deal if you ask me. Too bad I'm not a dodge employee, I'd love a charger.

You don't need to be an employee to get the employee discount...its a program they've been running for awhile.

I still wouldn't pay $9K for a Caliber or Aveo. I test drove a Caliber and it's an awful car.
