No more GS, so I finally got around to selling this.

Magnuson snout used about 15k miles. Comes with 3.4" pulley
on it, and also a 3.6" keyed and a 3.8" keyed pulley.

$250

Also, if anybody is interested, I some some new parts (Big 16g
turbo, 550cc injectors, etc) for 1g DSMs for sale. Let me know if
your interested. Also got a couple of mini-itx computers. They
are nice, small, fanless PC's.

Thanks,

Dave

The snout has keyed pullies instead of being pressed on. It is
a bunch easier to change them, if you are going to change them
often. I guess one scenario would be if you wanted a 3.4" for
regular driving, put wanted to put on a 3.0" for drag racing or
Friday nights. With the keyed pulley, all you have to do is take
the bolt off, slip off the pulley, slip on the new one, and put the
bolt back on. I personally have always just had a 3.4" on. I did
have the 3.8" in case I had to take the car in for any major work.

Sorry, I can come down on the price a bit, but I don't need any
trades (although I have to see about one of those tires).

Thanks,

Dave

I might just go with an Intense or ZZP hub and pulley, only $120 these days.

I was just curious if the mag snout was any better than stock. I've heard kinda misleading things like there was some sort of power gain with the snout alone, then adding on the smaller pulley was even more.

I'd be willing to trade my extra tires for that snout considering the competition these days is in the low $100s now..

If anyone is interested I'll let it go for $150 locally. I've been traveling lately,
and instead of putting it up on eBay or something, I'll just let it go to someone
around here.

Thanks,

Dave

Would that fit on an '04 Impalla SS with the supercharger?

NO, there in NO power gains from just switching a snout....

That'd be the same as saying switching windsheild wipers give you more power....

Switching PULLIES give you power....

YES... it WILL work for the 04 Impalla SS...
YES... it WILL also work with the 04 Monte SS...

NO...It WILL NOT work with the 04 Grand Prix GTP.....

what did they change on the 04 GTP?

It uses a different blower....Supposedly its a hell of a lot more efficient... But I think its a load of ****...
The 04 GTP has 20 more HP than our 97-03 GTPs.. but its not ALL from the blower change.... its a combination of things....

The M90 on OUR GTP's are the GEN III M90's... while the ones on the 04 GTP's are GEN V M90's.... Apparently, the GEN IV's never made it into production vehicles...

Thats another reason why they 04 GTPS engine code is L32, vs. our L67..
:thumbsup

And to all reading... Im not the one selling the snout listed in this thread...
Youre all private messaging the wrong person...LOL!

Im just shedding some light on the product, which is a HELL of a deal by the way... These things BRAND NEW go for $250+ and it comes with one pulley....
Each additional pulley is $90+ brand new...

Dave, I will take it off your hands if you like, but cannot give you the money until after the 28th when I return from Kuwait. If that is cool we can hook up then.

Dan-

That'll be cool. When you get back is fine. Sorry for the delay in the reply.
I've been on the road a bit.

Brian-

Thanks a BUNCH for the replies to people's questions.

Kinda nice to sell it. I have my eye on a new ATI Radeon X800XT for my
computer :)

Thanks,

Dave

From what I hear, the 04's have 20 more horses but are actually a couple of tenths slower. Is this correct?

I personally did not like the power from the GTP after driving the Impala SS. The SS felt like it had a lot more power.

The L-32 engine does have 20 more HP, but its from a combination of things... Heads/Blower/TB...etc..
From what the new 04 GTP owners are running stock, YES, they are slower because the PCM's that the 04's use are MUCH more ......hmm.. governed?
They hold back a lot of power in other words...

Stock 04 GTP times are in the LOW 15's (average).. Maybe 14.9's...

While the 97-03's will average between 14.4's-14.7's....

This is because the 04 Monte/Impala use the engine/drivetrain/etc.. from the 97-03 GTP's... the L-67 engine...
Now with the 97-03 GTP's being quicker than the 04's stock for stock... It would only make sense that you felt the Impala was quicker than the 04 GTP..
right? :)

That sounds about right. The sales person tried to sell me on the new Elec. TB/SC because he stated that the elec. would have a faster responds than the manual....The butt factor proved different.
