A 17-year-old Columbus student has died after playing a choking game.

Macklin "Mack" Jensen died Friday while participating in what's also called "space monkey" or "gasp."

GASP is a campaign organized by victims' parents to educate them about the game's dangers. The group says the game typically is played by adolescents who strangle themselves or have others push on their chests to feel light-headed for a few seconds.

Mack Jensen's father, Dan Jensen, says he and his wife weren't aware of it and have since learned how prevalent it is. So they have been trying to spread the word to other parents.

Jensen had been preparing to compete at a national wrestling tournament in Fargo, N.

I was at Great America a few years ago and a group of kids in front of us...they saw a chipmunk and one of the girls said "What is that called?" and one of the kids said "I think that's a squirrel." the rest of the kids sat in silence and apparently couldn't come up with shit.

Yeah in middle school I had a few guy friends who thought it was fun to do as well. They liked the feeling of loosing oxygen to the brain and the dizziness that ensued from it before they eventually passed out. However in coming too it was rough on them. I never understood it, but there you go, easy ways to kill brain cells. This may be why kids don't know the difference between a chipmunk and squirrels. Sad.

My brother is a teacher at Racine Horlick, you should hear some of the stories of the shitheads he teaches.
