I recently purchased a 1999 Tahoe and the front blower motor only works on the lowest fan setting and with some wiggling, sometimes on the second fan setting, but shuts off in the higher fan settings. I started looking into it today and this is what I found. The connectors for the fan switch is all burned up. Any idea what might cause this and where I can get a new connector for the wiring harness?

The harness connector, it looks like the brown wire heated up and burned up the plug. I assume this is the ground wire.

This is the switch connector, you can see the burned up remains of the harness connector.

call the dealer, the should sell a pigtail that can be spliced in, cost around 30-40 bucks.

Looks like a Molex connector housing. I can see if we have any at work. I can see the part # inside...192105...the part number doesn't correspond with any Molex numbers I know of so it could be someone elses. But you never know since Molex and Amp and Tyco are all one company now. I make wiring harnesses for various applications where I work.

Yeah they make connectors for the computer industry as well. Really sucks when they can't get their chit together since there aren't many alternative suppliers.

Joe it looks like each connector has a couple inch's of pigtail attached, why dont we just seam em together? Its not what I would do at the dealership but I gaurantee it wont fail again due to poor contact. Im sure I have everything in my garage to do it right quick.

The switch side connector is molded into the switch, no pigtail. I just ordered a replacement connector, terminals and locks for $5 on mouser.com

Thanks for all the help guys.

Glad you found one. We did not have anything that fit yours. I was thinking a Sumitomo or Packard part. Nothing from the Tyco group matched.

Yeah, Delphi is the manufacturer.
