New TH350 trans wont shift into R, D, or 2. Using Lokar shifter, everything there is working properly.
Filled torque converter with quart of fluid, filled trans with 9 quarts of fluid, slowly went thru each gear at idle.
Car will go into low gear but that's about it.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Problems before servicing the trans? Is it a fresh install?

Reverse requires the highest line pressure, low1 requires the lowest. Low line pressure can be simply extremely low fluid, is the trany making a whining or buzzing noise?

vacuum supply is coming off the back of the carb, I noticed a lot of guys are running it off of the manifold.
No whining or buzzing noise...although after running the car for a while when we turned it off we could hear a "gushing" sound, or a draining sound in the transmission. nothing is leaking.

Valve body gaskets could be or checkballs could be in the wrong place. Does this have a shiftkit in it?

From Alldata with your description of problem

#1 Governor valve may be sticking.
#2 Driven gear in governor assembly loose, worn or damaged. If driven gear shows damage, check output shaft drive gear for nicks or rough finish.
#3 Control valve governor feed channels blocked, or gaskets leaking. 1-2 shift valve train stuck closed.
#4 Check case for blocked governor feed channels or for scored governor bore which will allow cross pressure leak Check case for porosity.

removed shifter today and moved linkage coming out of transmission by hand...no resistance at all. something is f**ked in there. pulling trans out of car this week and letting someone else deal with it.
any suggestions on shops/people who would be CAREFUL handling it?
