I agree. There are a shit-ton of SN95 'Stangs out there, why cobble up a rare R code Cobra? It takes all kinds, I guess...

So basically the guy modded a rare low miles Cobra R?

IT's not like they swiss cheesed the mofo. Alot of that is probably undoable. For a 1 of 250 car if it goes for cheap it could be a steal.

You will be hard pressed to find an unmolested R model. SVT developed these cars as starter platforms for the weekend racer. In 93 and 95, you couldn’t buy an R unless you held a license from a sanctioning racing organization as Ford wanted them on the track and not in the garage although there were some dealers that did not obey Ford's rule. To go racing means modding for safety equipment at the very least and to be competitive there will have be engine, suspension and exhaust mods of some kind (more so in the 93’s than 95’s). As the seller says in his description, this car was used in a dealers racing series however not keeping the original stock pieces is a mistake. I have seen very few R cars that have not seen the track at some time or another.

Well as I cringe at the thought of a 93 cobra being turned into a strip warrior, this one isnt so bad, as it can be brought back to origional thanks to ford racing and the aftermarket.....this isnt so bad, and the price is right

Don't let the 2300 miles fool you either. They didn't use it to get ice cream on sundays. Every one of those rounds were beat on, WOT.

I love on corral.net every Cobra owner's sig starts out with:

"'93 Cobra, 1 of 2 Bimini Blue with grey tweed AOD cars built on a tuesday at the Ontario plant with Heather working in the facilities maintenance office when Bob called in because his kid had a soccer game..."

Then they rattle off the mile long list of mods to the car. Now what used to be a rare Cobra is just another Mustang.

you expect a car that was intended to be a race car not to be driven at wot? how is that any different from how any of us drive our own cars, dosnt mean that it is a big pile of shit by any means

I think he is just saying how the ad itself stresses that it is such low mileage when in fact it has been beat on for everyone of those low miles. :rolf

I don't think he was implying that it was a pile of shit, at least that is not the way I interpreted it.

It is not that bad, and it looks like it has been modified like that since it was new by the dealer. It is still worth at least 40k.

It's either the air pressure for his suspension bags or the voltage meter for his neon lights, or gee, it might even be the rust meter for it's future use as a RATROD...

sexy cars, but still fucked up..... as HITMAN stated, you can buy a V6 sn95 with a bad motor or high miles and still build it for drag racing and be many $$$ ahead. yet this guy did it to a origional Cobra R which they made 25X of. the only thing this car has going for it is the 351 based block.... yet they destroyed a numbers cobra R

It is pretty gay. 235hp in what, a lightened to 3200lb car? Ten years later they made 'em with 400hp and were only 500lbs porkier.

So it was used as a dealership drag car?!?

I'd like to stick a 351w into my Mustang just like the Cobra R instead of the 302w that it came with, but I doubt I'd molest an actually Cobra R unless I kept all the stock parts.

point being? as automotive technology evolves, it is not uncommon for more efficiant power plants to be produced. I fail to see what you were trying to prove..... moving on

The cars were rated at 300 HP, ive herd of they were under rated from the factory and that 300WHP is a much more realistic number. so lets see, 3200 LB car with 300WHP.... damn, thats very sold mid 12 second car if it hooks, maybe even a little quicker!! But thats right, its gay because 10 years later you can buy a 40K car with factory IRS that makes 100 more HP but cant keep a rear end togeather!

There is absolutely nothing special about them. They didn't make 300WHP, ever.

They ran ~13.5 fscking seconds in the quarter.

The neat part was that Ford did it, not what the car could do.
