wow, no steel reinforcements or anything, just the 1.5 inch glass. hard to believe it can hold 5 tons.

We looked for it last week. but couldn't see it on any of the sides of the building. The fiance and I are going down there on the 4th for taste of chicago and fireworks. Maybe we can check it out and Ill take pics.

It actually retracts into the building so you probably would not have seen it.

I can see it holding 5 tons. From the looks of it you could probably cram 12 or so people in there, say 200lbs each thats 2400 lbs. That gives you a factor of safety of about 4.2 About 3x what your airplane wing is :P

Where's the cheapest place to park that's close? Tomorrow at the Sears Parking Garage parking is $28-$30 for 1-2 hours.
