That 454 is a wrist buster for sure. Now that's some serious recoil.

The Raging Bull in .454 Casull is really not that bad to shoot. Between the weight, barrel porting and the spongy factory grip, I'd say it was comparable to shooting a factory gripped Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 mag, barrel lengths being somewhat equal. (shorter barrels will give you more muzzle whip than longer barrels) The big problem is that if you want to shoot factory loaded full-house Casull loads, it's going to cost you about $2 a round to shoot.:wow Good thing you can also shoot .45 Long Colt through it. That makes it a bit more manageable, recoil and cost wise.

Yeah, 454 is a potent round, but with the bull barrel and muzzle break, the recoil isn't much more than a 44 mag S&W. It does have one hell of a bark though.

Jimmy, $300 is a little low.

Bump.

After using it more over the past winter, I have decided to go with something a little lighter for coyote hunting.

Did you ever kill anything with the .222 you got from me? You know how many people probably killed coyotes with that rifle?!?!

I shot a couple with it. I reload those Barnes Varmint Grenades for that one. I still have the .222. I typically use that when the weather is really bad, or my younger bro uses it a lot.

How about a trade for the .454? I have a nice Ruger Redhawk .44 with a scope?

Cat, the .454 is no longer available. All I am selling is the AR.

Can you legally deer hunt with the AR? Too lazy to look up the code......

That is a nice looking gun! Do you have a case for it?

IDK if it's legal, but it is a piss poor caliber choice for deer hunting, assuming it's a .223.

Yes you can. Here you go!

http://dnr.wi.gov/org/land/wildlife/regs/Deer10regs16-19.pdf

Shotguns:
• Must have an overall 26” minimum length with 18” minimum barrel length.
• Rifled shotgun barrels of at least 18” in length are considered to be shotguns for
the purpose of hunting deer if they fire a single projectile and are in the following
gauges: 10, 12, 16, 20 and 28.
• It is illegal to hunt deer with a .410 bore shotgun.

Rifles:
• Must have an overall 26” minimum length with 16” minimum barrel length.
• Are legal for hunting deer in areas not restricted to shotguns, muzzleloaders and
handguns only as indicated by the maps on page 19.
• It is illegal to possess any rimfire rifle larger than .22 caliber or any center-fire rifle
.22 caliber or larger during any gun deer season in shotgun only areas unless it is
unloaded and enclosed within a carrying case. Note: Rifled barreled shotguns and
muzzleloaders are not considered rifles for purpose of hunting deer.
• It is illegal to hunt deer with any air rifle, rimfire rifle, or any center-fire rifle less
than .22 caliber.

You can legally shit your pants instead of pooping in a toilet, doesn't mean you should.

Yes, you can legally hunt deer with it, but unless your are a really, really good shot, and you are handloading some decent rounds, I would not advise it.

It's better suited for varmint (ie fox, coyote, prairie dogs, etc.). It does not pack the punch like a larger caliber rifle. It is an accurate rifle, though.

I do have the hard plastic case that it came in. It does fit in there with the scope on.

Thanks. I normally shoot a .300 Win Mag for the elusive white tail. Just thought it may be a nice alternative, which it is.
