From City of Greenfields web site.

Sonic Drive-In has just been approved by the Common Council to locate their restaurant at the former Rusty Skillet parcel @ 4763 S. 27th Street. The vacant building will be razed for the new construction to take place. Anticipated grand opening is this December. For further information, please contact the Planning Dept. at (414) 329-5342.

If the startup traffic is anything like West Milwaukee's location. Getting to Target should be really fun for a few months.

Sweet, now it will only be a 30 minute drive instead of 45.

Why not just wait til 2010 in spring?

Doesn't make sense to open a Drive-in in winter time.

They should open one on highway 100 somewhere.

I heard rumors about them tearing down the budget, (no idea if they are true) but that would be a good place I think.

Yeah, the location on Miller Parkway is in the middle of BFE, now another one on 27th... Great location on 27th there if they want problems like Leon's has had...

Why not just build one out on Hwy 100, S 76th (like maybe that corner by Kopps, or the Circuit City location), or even on Layton across from the mini-golf/driving range???

I can see why the Hwy 100 thing would be 'undesireable' due to the whole 'cruising' thing... But still...

I heard they were going to build one in Waukesha off sunset where the new Target and Pick n' Save is but Waukesha turned it down?

Why would they turn it down? That makes no sense, I think it would have put up a good fight aginst the Culvers that is a few blocks down the road.

I still have yet to try Sonics, but I've heard they have some good stuff.

So we went from having zero Sonics around here to 2 within a year? Sweet.

According to Mayor Bolenger Sonics has not agreed to the terms set by the city. So the permits haven't been pulled The city want an agreement that they level the building if the business fails and Sonic is not willing to do that.

thats not what I heard. Last I read, Sonics had agreed to that. The building framing is already up.

There won't be a Sonic opening on Hwy 100, def not in Stallis. The city would never allow it, they have enough problems with people loitering on hwy 100 I don't see why they would approve of it at an establishment such as a drive in IMO.

I thought they were building in Waukesha between the Kohls and the MB/Porsche dealership ... where the old pyrmax bank was that was just torn down.

Yes, that's where it's going. It was in the newspaper 3 or 4 months ago.
