View Full Version : Shipping a bike to France?
Yea, some of my bikes are THAT cool :rolf I have my DJ bike on ebay, and have a fellow from France that seems VERY interested. He got an estimate from UPS for 400, anyone have any ideas on how I can get it there cheaper? I'm guessing the MAX size of the box will be 52 x 12 x 18
The estimate from DHL is just under 400 bucks as well.

I sold my 70 Charger a few years ago to a guy named "Haaken Kaarlson" in SWEDEN. Dropped it off at a shipper he arranged things with in Chicago. Talked to him on the phone a few times during the deal it was pretty interesting. Imagine the Swedish Chef from the Muppets, everytime I talked to him his greeting was:
"Hello Hello! This is Haaaa---ken, from Sweee---den."

I'm pretty sure http://www.baxglobal.com/ is the cheepest international shipper.
Its not a scam, I've sold international SEVERAL times on ebay. Kinda hard to be a scam when they use a postal money order and allow as long as you want for the check to clear, isn't it?

Yeah I thought scam on the Sweden deal of course. The guy was willing to bank wire transfer the entire $25,000 in cash up front though, and he did several days later. It pays to have a good Ebay rating I guess lol, he was aweful trusting. I did talk to him on the phone several times, send him a scanned copy of the title so he could see it was clear and that I owned the vehicle, and provided him a lot of contact info. I may even have referred him to this and other sites that I have been on for years as "references" that I was who I said I was and did have the actual car for sale.
