Crash paints a LOT of bikes for Harley Davidson's Museum so he really needed to have one of his own. He picked up this bike last fall via craigslist from another bike / car guy from I believe Franklin.

He made a new taillight for the bike and cut a ton of crap off the frame and smoothed it out, changed the seat and rear fender, re-routed all the wiring and brake lines inside the frame and made a box to hide a bunch of wires / electronics under the seat. This spring he broke it down for paint, so far so good.

Me either :) Motor has fresh paint and will have a ton of polished parts when he is done. Motor is painted a dark gun metal color, same as the center of the Audi hood:

Battery is also painted along with the mirror, coils, utility box, and some other small things

Awesome! Props to him for choosing a motor from the land of the rising sun rather than one of them junks they build over on Capitol Drive.

Wheels are going to be cleaned up and left the way they are, will match with all the pieces he is polishing on the motor :thumbsup

sweet, too many guys run billet wheels, spokes are where it's at! The more I look at the "before" pics, the more I like it. Love the torch striker holding the clutch cable, the corrugated gutter lookin' thing for the rear fender, foot peg doubles as a kickstand. That bike has soul

I've seen that bike at a cruise night before. I liked the concept then. In addition to the torch striker, the headlight bucket was the top of a gas bottle. The uniqueness of it is all gone now. Don't get me wrong, I like the new work, but the "ratter" was a work of welders art. As much as I like the Milwaukee twin, i liked the originality of the Japanese engine.

Welders art? You didn't look close enough at the welds if your calling it art. Bike will be plenty of unique when its finished :).

I know what Greg's talking about when he said "welder's art". Keep us updated as the bike progresses, Pork.

OK, the welds weren't smooth or anything. The "art" part comes from the gathering of certain things which are related like the striker and the gas bottle headlight bucket, plus the welded bits like the rear fender and the seat. I thought it was original in an artistic sense. The new interpretation is as well, unique. I'm just going to miss the old version. I'm an artist. I'm thinking as an artist does.:thumbsup
