If indeed you mean a K Car, 2.2L 4 cylinder that is a fairly easy job. Probably something like 3-4 hours book time I would guess, so in the neighborhood of $250-$300 at a reasonably priced shop plus the belt cost which is also pretty cheap I would guess $30-$50 which is the do it yourself price...

Thats exacty what I charge assuming a 2.2/2.5 sohc, fair price I say.

Non interference but you would be surprised to see how many run around daily sucking fuel with the ACC shafts or cam timing off just a hair. Next time someone says "oh those NA cars are turds" just look at the cam or ACC shaft marks on a timing light set to -12*, usualy off a mark and idle fine with no power or fuel milage.

Thats compounded in turbo models (even the K-wagons got them) because the turbo hides the drivability issue of the timing issue. Top that off with the knock sensor backing off timing to the wrong firing plug and it gets nasty for a common oversight.
