Putting in an intercom system so the kids do not have to answer the door this summer when at the house alone. Purchased a well reviewed Westinghouse unit that utilizes the current doorbell wiring but I will be damned if I understand the instructions, seems like we are being told two different things.

First off, the instructions, confusion starts on page seven step; http://www.westinghouse-home.com/pdf/220649a.pdf

In step 8 they have you wire the two wires together, in step 10 they look seperated. Step 12, too someone electrically challenged like myself, looks nothing like what they are explaining.

First pic. This is the doorbell box. The two disconnected wires were run out to my existing doorbell and are disconnected per the instructions.

Second pic is where the outlet for the system will be going.

Any help is appreciated.

how the hell did u take such a bad pic for the first one?

According to the diagram the 2 wies coming out the old doorbell just connect inline with the new units...does not seem right to me. All you are doing is completing a circuit path. Take a better pic of the back and post up.
