Turtle Flambeau Flowage were our cabin is. 6 hrs north though. I would try a smaller lake were there aren't 100+ speed boats.

Browns Lake is hit or miss. Gotta be off the water by 10 on the weekends or deal with the skiiers and PWC squids.

Waupaca, was there last weekend.

In 4 hours I caught:
8 Rock bass
5 Large Mouth
4 Small mouth (one of which was 20") :thumbsup
7 or 8 bluegill(sp)

That was with night crawlers. Probably had 3x that in bites/lost worms.

Also this was on a overcast day with 68* water temp and 5-10mph winds. Was shitting but the fishing was decent. I love fishing up there.

awesome thread!! i havent really fished in my life but went on vacation in san diego and my father in law rented a boat and took us out on a lake out there and I had a freakin blast. Just using nigh crawlers on a bobber and was soo damn fun. I want to get a few pieces so I can go fishing up here but none of my buddies close by go fishing yet so I gotta get them going. I remember as a kid putting big ol chunks of steak fat on a hook and setting it on the bottom of the lake to find carp or channel cat. That was a freaking blast!

yea i didnt go fishing in about 5 years and this year i finally got time on my hands with not having a job now to actually get out and fish. if anyone ever gets a chance to fish up north near the dells area there is an excellent lake in reedsburg (about 1/2 hour away from wis dells) beautiful lake, me and my father in law caught 50 nice big bluegills in less than 4 hours. now thats sum good fishing

I fish Little Bay De Noc in Gladstone, MI since I have my 22ft boat up there... I mainly go fishing for Walleye. 3.5 hr drive which is not long for me but maybe for you it is.

Just saw this thread and I just got back from up north. My best friend, his dad and I went out wed. night and thursday. On Wed. night we got 23 northerns. We had our best day ever on Thursday at 60 fish. 57 Northerns, 1 12" Crappie, 1 11" Rock Bass, and 1 Large mouth. Man that was a blast! 83 fish in an evening and a day is fun!
