Bob Tolkan Buick Pontiac GMC Dealership Closes
The Bob Tolkan Buick Pontiac GMC dealership, at 5700 S. 27th Street, closed it's doors permanently this week.
The Milwaukee dealership first received a non-renewal notice from the General Motors on May 15th, General Manager Jim Tolkan confirmed to WTMJ.
The doors were closed Wednesday. The service department will continue to operate through Monday of next week.
Tolkan said he hopes to remain employed in the auto industry.

Wow...

gonna be interesting with all these guys use to making 6 figures having to settle for either NO job in the auto industry or just going back to sales. Most dealerships don't need mutliple sales managers or even a General Manager/General Sales Manager type heirarchy.

It is a good thing though for those dealerships that are still open on that part of town, the service and sales traffic will go up at least 30-40%......cant wait til russ darrow dodge shuts down

i feel bad for most of the guys that work their, some have been their over 30 years, than their are a couple of as-------, i left their about this time last year when he talked about closing due to lack of funds

No shit,you worked there.I worked there from when foster closed until about 2 years ago.What dept.?I was a tech. there.I think i know who the a$$holes are that you're talking about.:goof

My gramps bought from there along as I can remember. He always bought the smallest Buick with the biggest engine, all starting in 1955 (That first one came from Frascona I think) His last car was a Grand National. The one I liked the best was a 69 Skylark with a 350 4bbl, auto. Pretty much like a GS Stage 1 without the manual and the fake hood scoop. That thing scared gram, but I loved it. Going up to the cabin near the Dells on HWY 16 in an hour and a half. At the time Lowell and Oconomowoc, and other small towns weren't bypassed. A bit over a Hundred miles distance.
