What do you think of this on my car? It comes in flat black and I think I'd leave it that way to match my chin and rear louvers. The price is right.

Thoughts?

if you must to a fake hood scoop, which i wouldn't because your car looks very nice, go with the ROUSH scoop. the roush scoop installs great, comes painted or unpainted, and is very high quality. i actually have a black one in the parts department right now.

i hate my fake hood scoop so much that i am getting a new hood next year.

I don't like it. I think it wouldn't look right especially with your stripes. I find those scoops really shorten up how the front end looks.

Personally I think your car is pretty badass looking the way it is. Only thing I would maybe add is the back side window scoops.

Hoodscoops for the loss. If you want a change, why don't you get a whole different hood?

QFT. With a car as nice as yours I wouldn't half ass it.

I've thought about the side rear rear window louvers but, I like my rear window louvers and I think it would be too much to have them on the side too. Plus they wouldn't match. One or the other is good.

A whole different hood? Maybe. There are a couple I like. There is one that mimics the '69's. I've heard a lot of horror stories about fit and finish though Plus the damn things are pretty heavy. My aluminum hood is a featherweight in comparison.

Fiberglass?

There are a metric shit ton of hoods out there for your car. It's up to you to weed out the good from the bad! Happy hunting. I hope you find something that you like. :thumbsup

After sitting an hour and a half with your car, I think it needs nothing. It would foul up the stripes.

This is the one I kinda like. https://www.cervinis.com/product.aspx?car=1&id=1208#8018

$1300 though? I'll have to start turning tricks again.

And fiberglass is lighter than steel, but still heavier than aluminum by a pretty good margin. I'll have research again by how much.

That looks nice but you'll have work around your stripes some how. Maybe have them cross over onto the hood and stop just before the flat black part.

This is true. Your opinion should carry extra weight.

The pic is great by the way. Thanks a bunch. Matting and framing are going to be my Father's Day presents.

Seibon Carbon Fiber Cowl Hood!!! Sexy as hell, Black and doesn't need prep. Chris Cruz (C5D) has one on his 2006 Vert and it is pure sex!

This would look awesome, costs about $600, is lighter yet than the stocker, and would be awesome on your car!

That does look hot. Just the right height I think too. $600 for carbon fiber is hard to beat. I should really put the brakes on the new hood talk though. The mod budget for the year has been pretty much used up. I like the idea, but it'll probably have to wait until next year. The thought on the scoop was that it could be a quick and painless upgrade, but right now it's not looking too popular. That's fine. That's why I asked the question.

JEALOUS!

I think your car looks pretty damn good the way it sits now--pretty sure I saw it On Hwy 36 a couple times movin out!

Tint the windows and make the 1/4 windows limo tint to blend in with the body color and you will get a nice clean look then you wont need the window louvers. Maybe tinted now but not in your sig!

I think aftermarket hoods are kinda ghey.........

Hmmm. Isn't "Camaro" French for companion?

Sounds kinda Queer dontcha think?

:)

And yes, I'm sure you've seen me on 36. That's pretty much my corridor to work. Especially since the ramps to Hwy 43 in Muskego are closed.

No tint yet. But that is an idea.

Cervini makes a great hood. If you were to get that carbon fiber hood I would for sure paint the stripes over the carbon. Personally I think you car looks great! If you wanna do the ebay scoop, it's your car so by all means do what makes you enjoy the car more. My humble opinion would be to hold off until you feel good about buying a new hood.
