Anybody want to speculate what the total damage to our GTI is? Wife had a deer jump in front of her doing 70mph out in western Minnesota last night. Luckily only 10-odd miles from her parents place. Radiator is done, front corner pushed back far enough to break the VR6 engine cover. No airbags deployed.

That is not good. I'd assume an easy 5-7k. in damage.

Hope your wife is okay. I have been trying to call you also. It says your number is no longer in service.

damn, i'm going to go with about 7K in damage as well.

On a side note, what time do you want us there tomorrow?

I hope the deer had insurance or you at least had uninsured deer insurance. :goof

J/k, hopefully she wasn't hurt. I'd say prolly at least 4k in damage, but who knows what it looks like when you start tearing it apart, there's prolly more that you can't even see yet.

I got a new phone a while back, if anybody else still has the number that ends in 4818 pm me for the updated number.

Everyone in the car was fine. My 12 yo boy got quite a wake up call though, teach him to sleep in the car :) . My 4 year old told my wife this morning when she left to get these shots to not kill any more deer when she left.

I'm surprised how light the damage looks. I hit a deer doing 60 in a 96 Corolla and the damage was worse. I'm glad to hear everyone is ok...

Time to swap in the Jetta front end!

Idk but I like the GTI's with Jetta front end conversions.

Sorry to hear this Scott.

Yes, I stayed back to do the show tomorrow. If I had gone we would of had the Suburban, and the Suburban would have faired much better. And yeah, everybody is fine after getting to bed really late.

And Mr Yeehaw as far as keeping the deer, there really wasn't much left to keep from what I understand, it was pretty much like that dude at the end of the first Robocop movie.

Way south of there in Fairmont, which is about 10 miles north of the Iowa border.

i'm going low, gonna say 4500. sorry about the deer, that is never a fun situation. However, the car might be saved, especially since there was no airbag action.

$4500 it is, at least the initial estimate from the adjustor.
