Mgd 64

Hey everyone,

Normally I drink Miller Lite/ whatever's at a party. Well over Memorial day there was MIller Lite and Miller Genuine Draft 64, and I thought why the hell not? So I drank the MGD 64 and at first, I must say I didn't like it but after about two beers I must say it didn't taste that bad. I know I wasn't buzzed, but maybe it's one of those have to have a few of them things to have a taste for it? Either way, I don't know. What do you think?

I actually really like that stuff, especially when it's so cold there's a tiny layer of slush at the top (aka in my beer fridge in the garage). My fav is still high life but the 64 is good if you're not tryin to get drunk and just want a cold one.

Side note: wendell the high life guy is supposed to be all over west bend tonight.

I like miller lite and MGD but i can't stand this stuff, its like some one poured 3/4 of the beer out and filled the rest up with water. Err, i suppose thats what they actually do, lol.

that i didn't know that. i do know that miller had stated that mgd lite wasn't a seller and that mgd 64 was going to replace it or be re branded.:)

Yeah, the 64 is it's own brew compared to the old mgd light that shared it's brew with high life light... similar to how mgd and high life were the same kettle brew for a long time only with different endings to the process.

Do they still make red dog? I need to find me some of that. I miss it.

MGD 64 is exactly half the calories and half the alcohol as miller light. So its pretty much the same thing as regular beer, just got to drink twice as much, lol.

I don't drink mgd 64, unless I'm driving or need to stay sober. It's good then.

At first I didnt like it but it is starting to grow on me the more I have it. (Keep drinking it because all the guys on my softball team drinks it and Im not really the type of person that will turn down a cold free beer

This is true. A good family friend is one of the top chemists at Miller. We usually get to sample a lot of the stuff before it hits the shelves. We had Chill at least six months before it came out and the 64 as well.

Yes they do, but only in 30 packs.

Working at a distributor, i see alot of weird stuff, Hamms, Blatz, etc. I work mostly in the Hood of Racine, so alot of 16oz Steel Reserve, Classic Ice, Colt 45, and Best Ice/Light.

Never was a big beer drinker. Way back when I started drinking when it was legal at 18 LOL I drank High Life and Old Style. Now I just drink liquor.

Perhaps this HR guy was confused by the name of the beer stock used to make hamms. They use a stock they call S64 to make hamms and a few others. Perhaps this HR guy thought that S64 meant mgd light 64? The actual mgd light 64 is from a stock they call L6, and mgdl64 is the ONLY beer made from that stock.

I was visiting a friend's house and asked for a beer and she said help yourself to whatever's left in the fridge, which was all MGD64. I drank all 8 in 4 hours, didn't get a buzz, got what I think was a bladder ache (it's not a tumor), and then went home. MGD64 FTL

MGDLight was 3.x% MGD64 is 2.x%. There's really not THAT much difference. Drink enough of them and it'll get you drunk. But if you're trying to get drunk, what are you doing grabbing a light beer anyways? Wouldn't it be more efficient to go out and grab some full strength beer? :alcoholic
