Nice. I have always wanted one for a year round drive. I wouldn't care if it was an RS, MR, or whatever...

Nice choice.

Evo (05) MR VIII
-Mitsubishi used the same transmission housing but fit an extra gear. Because of that there is not enough fluid to cool and some of the gears are weaker. For average person its ok, but with a lot of power or road racing 4th gear might be the first to break or over heat.

Looks like a great car!! I've also heard about the transmissions, I have no idea about the specifics tho.

There ya go, i think i suggested that back when he was looking. The evo IX is a great car. Has the slightly larger turbo and better head/cams than my VIII has. Being the MR edition it has the bilstein struts which work well on the road course. I just tunned mine with bolt ons, IX turbo and E85, it made 350whp /370 tq on the stock cams and intercooler. A IX with the same mods would do closer to 370-380 whp due to the better head/cams. The 6 speed is a little weak if you beat on the car a lot, for a daily driver type car it will be fine. EvolutionM.net is a great site, tell him to check it out. Weight should be around 3200 lbs, 300 hp, should be good for 13.2-13.4@104ish depending on the driver.

How much did he pay?

26k, will be delivered from California in the next 14 days.

Has 23k miles on it, totally stock, I didn't want someone else's project car.
