Now they need tires. Can any1 recomend a good brand. The sizes need are 235/45/17 and 255/40/17. I'm looking for Z rated tires. Also the sidewall can be 40 or 45. They're going on SLP's new 17x8 zr1 wheels for older fobdies and s-trucks.

Very nice!! Khumos are decent for the price and you can get them cheap from Tire Rack or Mr. P's on hwy 100. Ask for Rick and tell him I sent you.

Thanks got it up!

Those tires look nice. I'm still deciding, are there any BF Goodrich dealers localy? I really like the KDWS's.

Also for those 255's they say they mount on 8.5-9.5 will they work on 8"?

Are the Eagle F1's any good? They look like a wet weather tire though.

sure
the F1's are great too,

that is what came stock on my SS
and i just bought a new set!
of F1's.

GOODYEAR!

as for the 255 on 8" rim,
you might want to go with a wider rim for 255's,

but my F1's are 275 on a 9" rim.

so 20mm = .8" 8/10ths of an inch,

so, 255 should work ok on an 8" rim.

:wow

17x8 is the only size slp offers ZR1's for my truck. I'm pretty set on the KDWS's. When I get home I'm gonna go hunting for a bfgoodrich dealer.

I hear of Syclone/Typhoon guys getting away with 255/50/16 tires on their S-Series trucks which have 16x8 rims stock, the only thing to watch out for is if the tires rub in front with the wheel turned at full lock. You could do 255 in rear and 245 in front, give you extra traction for your RWD and better clearance in front. But obviously would reduce your chance of tire rotation. Unless your car has different rims front/rear then you won't be doing much rotating anyways.

I was planning on running 235's on front. Theres a tire size/drop chart on s10forum.com and it says: 5" drop in front: 17x8 4.5 bs 225 45 17 tire wil look stretched, 245 45 17 to big major rubbing

So I'm guessing with 235's and a 4.5" drop in front I shouldnt have any problems and if I do very slight rubbing.
