this bowling league i used to be in. for the end of the season party someone would always bring that in. never got sick from it.

That's how I got hooked on it...!!! An older team member forced me to try it, up until that point I thought it was the most disgusting thing on earth. We also had it at every holiday family gathering up until about ten or so years ago when 'mad cow' disease hit the media.....:chair:

My family still has that very New Years. Red onions give it that little extra taste.

I've never tried it. I've heard it's good, but the whole raw meat thing kinda turns me off of it. I know a lot of old timers like it. I think it's a Polish dish? I'll have to try it next time I see it I guess.

Forgot to mention that it MUST be had on some variation of Rye bread, and I've always used sweet Vidalia onions but others taste good too......:drool:

Yeah your supposed to eat it on rye bread, really helps make it taste right. Thats what those little mini loafs of rye are for.

I eat it all the time. In fact I will go at lunch and buy some and bring it in to work. We had it at our wedding reception.

But I don't like to crunch in to an onion so I use onion powder, garlic powder and salt.

Ground beef, usually a good cut of steak is freshly ground so you aren't eating some nasty old hamburger full of hoof and mouth disease @ 1.98 a pound.

lean raw beef is best to use....then afterwards...herring in wine sauce..and smoked fish on rye bread as well.... (chubs are used most )........fish is such a tasty dish...:rolf:rolf:rolf:rolf :goof

Ground Round is the most popular meat sold for it. It is leaner but still has enough fat for taste.

Not if it is fresh and handle correctly. I have been eating it since I was little. I have never gotten sick and I eat it quiet a bit. I eat my burgers rare also.

Actually Steak Tartare has raw egg and a few other things in it. I had it in Vegas once. It was very good and very expensive.

Sushi = :drool:, and even more so than RBnO.....

I don't like fish or seafood either but if I did, I would probably eat it raw. My husband loves Sushi. Spicy Tuna is his favorite. I usually get Beef Sashimi which is Beef Sushi. It is a good cut of steak just seared around the edges and the sliced thinly.
