I love food. I love going to my favorite places and enjoying a great meal. And we all have places we just love something at. Why not share then with everyone? Anywhere in SE WI is game and any kinda food or drink you can think of.

Please include roughly were it is, why it's the bomb, and any other details you might wanna add.

I'll start off...

Chinese: China Inn

Forest Home Ave in Hales Corners.

Place has been around for like 30 years. Seriously. My family has been going there for at least 30 so everyone knows us. Hunan Chicken is my favorite. their fried rice is some of the best I've had anywhere. Same with the Lo Mein.

Chinese: China Hut!

51st and Howard in Greenfield.

Place looks and sounds like a dumb. but people that live around it know the deal. Manderin Beef (you can get chicken) is SOO damn good. Huge portions for the money and the have Fast Deliver. Yes deliver, not delivery. lol.

That's my chinese food kick.

Heart-Attack Burgers:

Solly's on Port Washington in Glendale.... they put the Culver's "butter burger" to shame. Your burger will come with a 1/2 stick of butter melting on it.... literally.
or
Murf's on Sunset in Waukesha.... similar to Kopp's burgers, but with more grease and better taste.

Both also have awesome custard/ice cream.

Prime Rib.

Kelly's Bleacher's II if you can believe it.

I used to think The Corner House in Racine but I had the King Cut this weekend at Kelly's and it was so big I couldn't finish it. Perfectly done and the Au Jus that went with it was out of this world. I had heard that the chef from Aud Mar Supper Club went there. I believe it.

The service was a little slow though.

I live right off of Beloit and Sunnyslope. My only beef with them is they only take cash. Kinda weird.

Those are damn good burgers. Kinda small, but damn good.

Rootbeer: Johns Rootbeer

Whers's that?

Pizza: Balistreri's (68th and Wells - Tosa)

I second this one.

Subs: Potbelly's

Mmmm Roast Beef Samich.

I'd like to add...

French Dip Sandwhich: Moe's Irish Pub on Bluemound.

I haven't had it downtown but Moe's has the best French Dip. So good.

I second Lake Park Bistro.

For chinese, I get my fix from San Fong in South Milwaukee. You can get a lunch platter (your choice of entree with fried rice and your choice of crab rangoon or spring roll) for anywhere from $5-$7 bucks and the portion is HUGE. I always get the sweet and sour chicken or the General Tso's. Their dinner entrees are the same, just slightly bigger, and come with an egg roll. Their crab rangoons ARE THE SHIT!

Burgers: Georgie Porgies in Oak Creek is always a fav, and Waynes Drive-in in Cedarberg has some tasty stuff!

Gyros: Oakland of course

Pizza: Dimarinis is good stuff

for whatever reason, we don't have many really good burger joints. We need someone to open up a 50's style diner with good malts and excellent char-grilled burgers. I'm talkin fresh fixins, fresh beef etc. That is the one thing I hate about our area is the burger selection. To me, they all pretty much suck. I'll agree that 5 Guys is pretty good. But Kopps, Omega, Oscars are all about the same. Culvers is decent too but still not as good as it could be

I prefer Oscars over culvers. culvers seems too mass produced to me. dont get me wrong, its still delicious (swiss melt, mmmmmm)

for whatever reason, we don't have many really good

Speaking of what we have...we don't have any good fast food, non chain taco places. I find this really really odd seeing how large of a Hispanic population we have in Milwaukee. There used to be Taco City which was AWESOME but the owner sold it and it went to hell over the last 6 years.

We don't have any places like that. We have a sh*t ton of Mexican restaurants but non that are more of a fast food.

I used to work for Taco City. I can honestly say they were one of the best, cleanest, freshest taco places (when Frank Sorrento used to own it).

I'm fat, so let me ask you, who you gonna trust when it comes to food? Some skinny guy? Come on.

Italian- Saraphino's on Layton (2 blocks East of Hardees). The one on 92nd and Oklahoma isn't nearly as good.

Pizza- Again Saraphino's on Layton.

Burgers- Mazos across the street from Leon's on 27th.

Sushi/Japanese- Kyoto on 76th + Layton.

Wings- Jimmy's Grotto in Waukesha.

Steak- Prime Quarter... if you are willing to cook it. They have great beef.

I like those places too, but they aren't the kinda place I'm talking about. I'm talking about a place you walk up to counter and order from. Fast food.

No I worked at the one in Cudahy for a very very short time. I didn't get along with a few people there, but that didn't sour me about the fod quality. It's a shame they closed.

Yeah their ginger dressing is off the chain. Prime Quarter on HWY 100 next to the Honda dealership is the one I go to. I have a pic of me from there with 2 Beefeater medallions around my neck.

Italian: Carraba's on 76th next to Kopps.
Carrabas is good but their hours suck and they're always packed. They're a little pricey but their food is real good.

Also forgot- Gyros- Golden Gyros 72nd and Lincoln. Get the Gyro Supreme... hell even as a big guy I can make 2 meals out of that thing. Go inside and you can watch them cut the lamb. Cash only though!

it could just suggest indiscriminate taste, rather than good taste.

Burgers:
Favorite is soblemans in the menomonee valley. Just wish the burgers were larger. Mazo's is good too...a close second in my book. Solly's is a once in a while, take-someone-from-out-of-town-just-to-see-their-reaction kind of place.

Pizza: I'm a new york style hand tossed kinda guy, so Leonardo's. If I want deep dish, I'm normally already in chicago at a lou malnati's.

Steak: My own backyard...most places do a decent steak, but none to my particular taste.

BBQ: I LOVE speedqueen. Closest thing to deep south BBQ in the area.

Mexican: Botana's and Tres Hermanos are my favorite...both in the 5th ward.

Italian: I really like De Marini's (the one you can see heading south on 794) best...love the lasanga.
