Make sure your whips are taller than the stacks or your going to get crap reception. Also rain caps will be cool for about an hour then you will get sick of the sound of them unless you find a way to kill the sound, maybe spray the bottoms of them with linex.

DirtyMax
05-10-2009, 02:59 PM
Are you even going to be able to go under some bridges? :stare

Did you drill a drain hole for rain water?

Yeehaw
05-10-2009, 03:07 PM
they will be silent rain caps

and im good with bridges just not the drive-thru lol and i get crap reception has it is so w/e

05-11-2009, 07:27 AM
eh..id cut them down a bit.. like somebodyelse said 2-3 inches above the cab....

wrath
05-11-2009, 08:02 AM
No offense but...

It looks like somebody got $500 to go with Grandpa's old in-bed camper hauler. All it needs is those between-the-bumper-and-the-tailgate LED strip lights to match the trailer lights in the grill and she'd be all played out like 1999.

What prevented you from putting a habitrail exhaust out the back?

Nick
05-11-2009, 08:06 AM
they should be taller

Yeehaw
05-12-2009, 10:46 AM
once you cut them they will rust....meh im leaving them that tall since NO one else in town has straight stacks that high so it will stand out lol...making a light bar for the roof and getting 4 ft antennas not the 3 ft like i have now hopefully will break it up a little bit

right now its just short of 8 feet high

Nick
05-12-2009, 10:55 AM
You should also put whistle tips inside them so you can be louder than everyone in town too.

Also you should paint the truck pink so you can have the only pink truck in town too.

Can you make it so flames come out too?

These will help you stand out more.

Leave 'em tall. It's different, and striking.

that body style doesnt look right with stack imo they sit too far off the cab...it looks like you have alot of deadspace rather than flow. What are those anyway like 4" they look way small in diameter in those pictures

I would try putting a valve body in it first. Does it slip? My trans was REALLY loose feeling before the valve body, and now with the valvebody it feels solid.

4"? COME ON!! we built a 5in to 6in stacks on rinks ole 7.3 ;) dropped egts 200* you must be playing on the old guy 7.3 forum, 4in was 10yrs ago:goof but i suggest 5in exhaust under the truck to be a max diameter, 6in doesnt do anything and it lost seat of the pants hp :rolf

Stacks are gay.... idc how much it drops your EGTs, no one in Waukesha tows or does anything remotely close to it to load their engines up enough to have to worry about EGTs. And with the $$$ rink had into thoes stacks, he would have been better off paying some chick to suck his dick since he hasnt got any in over a year.

i have been hauling and towing a lot with mine reason i got it...towing with my full size bronco and the durango was kinda hard so i stepped up to what ive wanted since i was a little kid...a diesel...not sure how high i really get my EGTs but 4 inch is just fine on this truck not racing or towing anything too heavy sounds nice and is loud enough for me :-)

and its either the valve body or the solenoid getting weak doesnt slip just shifts real hard and if you stand on it it doesnt shift

correct me if i am wrong, but wont the exhaust blow rite back at the camper now with this new stack setup, thus leaving a black soot on what appears to be a fairley new, clean and expensive unit?

Hey, if your going to take a picture of your unit and post it up, put this in NWS!

Agree the stacks are a bit tall. I'm sure you can come up with a way to adjust / fix the height.
