Looked to be either and Evo 8 or 9, I don't know them well enough to tell the difference. But anyways, it had the FlexFuel badge on it. I was wondering if they actually released them like that or was this Evo just tuned on E85 and wanted to throw the badge on it?

This is the badge I'm talking about, I've only really seen it on GM vehicles which leads me to believe this is just an E85 tuned Evo.

You can buy the flex fuel stickers/badges on ebay and stick them on.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/E85-FLEX-FUEL-Ethanol-EMBLEM-Badge-CHEVROLET-Impala-GMC_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1240Q7c66Q3a2 Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3 a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem 3350dec313QQitemZ220400108307QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fT ruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

He most likely converted his car to be able to accept E85.

Where you can get the stickers from wasn't even in question. But thanks for that. I was simply asking if they made flexfuel Evos off the lot or is a conversion to do that.

And Mike, I'm gonna look into what it takes to convert to E85.

nothing is really involved on the evo besides bigger injectors and walbro pump. tank, pump, lines and fuel rail are fine long term running E85.

its just stock injectors and pump dont flow enough

I'm going to read more about E85. Seems like a lot of guys make good power from using it.

We usually use the CNG Ford 1600cc injectors on E85.

No they don't make them from the factory.

Are you planning on converting your Grand AM? Do you drive the car in the winter?

The main thing you will need is bigger injectors and some way to control or compensate for the bigger injectors. You might need to upgrade your fuel pump as well since you will be pumping more fuel. Also be aware that E85 can corrode some of your fuel system components.

I converted my dsm to run E85, it is really good stuff. But I did it because I was knocking and didn't want to use race gas or water/meth injection. If you have any questions let me know, I did a lot of research on this.

There are a few stations around:

More good info:

Also note that E85 is 85% ethanol all the time, they switch it to E70 towards the colder months to help with starting, which is listed in the link above when they do that.

You don't ness. have to use 1600cc injectors but depends what you want to do with the evo. looking for high hp? dd with mid hp???
I personally think you can get away with 750 or even 1000cc will work with intank pump and bigger fuel rail. :) for 500whp set-up.
good luck deggy!

you can usually run up to about 700whp on 1000cc and twin pump

I won't be looking to convert the Grand Am, I am done tinkering with the Grand Am. After the accident it was in, I lost interest in trying to make it look nice. (Well like it ever did. :durr)

What are the pros and cons to using E85? It's obviously cheaper, but I heard it burns quicker but cleaner. Is that true?

Basically the reason I am asking about the E85 conversion is my cousin is building a car and is interested in running E85. I am going down to Texas sometime this summer to check the car out. He won't even tell me what car he is building.

Ahh, not so much. Not on E85 anyway. I run a walbro 255 pump and PTE 1000cc injectors on E85. Numbers are in sig, this stuff is great for boosted cars. 1000's on E85 are good to maybe 450whp if you are lucky. At 350 whp i am seeing 70% duty cycles.

E85 will do little to nothing if the car isn't built for it. It is good for forced induction and N/A motors with crazy high compression, we're talking 15:1 here. It has an effective octane of 105 but the cooling effects of the ethanol vaporising is what really helps with the turbo cars. It provides the same effect as meth/water injection.
