My laptop is bugging the crap out of me. When ever I am typing something and the arrow is over other text just sitting there or if it is just sitting anywhere after a little bit, it'll either click on whatever it's over or make me start typing wherever it is. Very annoying when I am writing a paper. Is there a way to make it stop doing that?

Sounds like it is just a setting in the word processing program you are using. You may be able to change it by going to view.

My gateway does the same thing. I haven't been able to figure out why it does it. I use to think I was bumping the touch pad with my thumb when I was typing but it isn't that.

I've had this on-and-off. Usually it's a hypersensitive touchpad. Research your touchpad drivers, uninstall them, and reinstall them. And watch to make sure your thumbs aren't dropping down too far and accidentially hitting the pad..

Isn't there an area where you can adjust the speed and sensitivity of your cursor?

Yeah basically disable your touchpad and use a mouse for a little bit, see if you still have the same issue.
