Its weird. I have verizon, and I am absolutely limited to 160 characters. I noticed some of my friends who have other providers, can send a message longer then 160 characters. I receive it as 2 seperate messages, however verizon won't let me. If the phone wont limit me, after its sent, I get an automated message back from verizon saying texts are limited to 160 characters.

My phone lets me write a text as long as I want, say 180 symbols, but it does send it as 2 segments. But I have recieved texts from others that are well over 160 symbols. BTW, I have verizon as well.

my phone wont let me go past 160. Previous phones I've had let me go past 160, but it won't send it. It gets a network error.

I have verizon and if you are sending it to another verizon customer it will send it in 2 parts. If you send it to non verizon customers than you get the message saying it was to long and the message is usually cut off. At least thats how it is with my phone.
