I looked around to see if anyone had posted about this and didn't see anything, here or in the event area.....................So is anyone going this Sunday to the " Drive the mile " at the Milwaukee mile? It's $15 and two non-perishables for the Hunger Task Force of Wisconsin. I had fun last year and the kids like going fast, so I'll be going unless it rains.

I went last year and fell back it the pack and coming around and out of the last turn before the finish line I was going around 100 with four people in my car.

I saw a bike and an older car going a lot fast then me.

They do have two pace trucks that try to keep you around 55, but just fall back and hammer on down :headbang

Get only one lap? Or more? How many cars about show? And do they let that many go at once? I've heard of it before but never did it, obviously. Would be a quick trip over there from my house so its tempting.

Sounds kind of like when we do the spectator rides at road america, i think the speed limit is suppose to be 45-55 but everyone shit cans it out of the corners, i've gotten up to 120+ before, lol. Although, it is kind of scary going into a turn 4-5 wide and no one holds their damn line.

I did it last year in a 4x4 Ford Ranger and we were doing 75-80mph. Wish I could go this year and see how the Focus does but I will be busy playing army....

If you go, don't forget the two non-perishables, it's for the pantry they are doing it for.

Your right, remember this if you go, I went to pick and save and get a can peanut butter and a can of fruit, as this is what the web site says they need the most!!!!!

I've raced on that track. $15 to drive 35mph kinda sucks.

No luck. Had a last minute little league addition to the Sunday agenda. I made it as far as Griffin and that was it. How was it?

my wifes friend was a volunteer at the track. someone got kicked out for doung a burnout. there was so many people there the pace truck was cruising at 60 mph to get everyone thru. i hit 75 on the back stretch. it was cool. got a pic with gilbert too.

Love'em or loathe'em (I'm in the latter category), the one thing Leroy of Team Rush did that was truly awesome was having those auto-X events at The Mile. Those really were fun. I thought for SURE there was going to be at least one douchebag go in to the concrete wall on the way back in the infield. It was also cool being the guy that got to design the last couple courses too. Because of the space restrictions they were really technical.

I raced my stock 240 at two of the races and remember I was running like a second or two faster then my friend with an RB powered 240. lol. It always feels good being able to drive a stock car faster then someone with 100hp more then you.

I wish someone couple put together an event like that again.

It went fine...until the bottom of the first. Pansy ump tossed me for going in high with metal cleats. The kid was in my line just askin' for it!!

Some guy was there that pulled his boat on a trailer around the track. I am surprised they let him do that.

My buddy said he took his quad axle around the track with a few other dump trucks. I was surprised they allowed that too.

the guy that pulled his boat also was there with a shelby gt 500. he had a racing suit on and a helmet. the whole time in the pit lane he was revving the shit out of that car and pulling up real fast. everyone was shaking there head at him and laughing at him. im surprised he didnt burn out his clutch before he got on the track.

The dump trucks were there last year. It's an attraction, the people liked it.

That's what he was saying. His cousin owns the trucking company and said this was their second year doing it. They are all sharp looking trucks and sound good too.
