Seems a bit low IMO... Quite the drivetrain loss..

it is 4wd and i had the 20s on instead of my 17s(not sure if any of this matters)

I just wanted to run it to see what it said before it gets forced induction

what forced induction route are you going? any reason to do this to a truck?

1. thats not a stock engine with an STS kit. And its 2wd.

2. I thought this guy was your friend, why would you recommend an STS kit...

whats wrong with STS? Not that I am defending the idea, I just don't know about why their remote mount turbo kits may or may not be good

Everything being equal, you're way better off with a normal front mount kit. Theres chances for boost leaks, scraping on shit, getting your turbo(s) stolen (very easy on a truck). Rear turbos are a waste of time if you have room up front.

Thank you. I understand STS kits do what they say they'll do... but it wouldn't be the first route I'd go...

the torque is down most likely because of the stupid torque managment, just wondering what do you have done as far as mods?

A normal engine bay mounted kit will produce more power at the same boost levels. From what I've heard these are notorious for lag, and with a truck I can't imagine it being any better...

there is a trailblazer SS guy I know running around with an STS turbo setup. Unless something is wrong.... its still a 13 second truck lol

A TBSS with a turbo running 13s.... For some reason I see that going faster....

For a vehicle that size......13s seems pretty decent, actually.

The point is is that the same turbo in the engine bay will be a better/faster setup. The hot pipes will stay hotter, spool up faster. Please don't go STS.

im leaning more towards a Procharger, for 4500 you get the complete kit, and gains are 120 whp(acording to their site) and that whine is baddass! I currently run a 14.9, this has got to put me into the high if not mid 13s

not really.....my jeep is NA and I have a current best of 13.2 @ 104 with just a drop in k&n filter. Add my current intake/tune/exhaust and I should be good for a 13 flat or better.

Why in the hell can't you learn how to use there, their and they're! How did you graduate from high school?

No whine from a Procharger - Just a turbo-like whistle, but it's a great sound either way!

it definitely should, but something is fubar'd on his truck, not sure what. maybe its just the whole STS idea. maybe a normal engine bay turbo would produce far better ET times for the guy. The average TBSS should be mid to high 13's with decent driving and good temperatures at the track. With a turbo and accompanying bolt ons, you would expect 12's for sure

There are plenty of truck out there with minimal mods going low low 13's with stock converters.

Not to start a shit storm, but in the STS's defense, they can make power and be fast.... They usually dont impress much by just bolting it on and going, just like any other FI application works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tv5_FWt9oxM&feature=related

I'm still not FOR or AGAINST the STS setups, that particular trailblazer is the only vehicle I've seen in person with the STS setup and those are the only results I've ever seen.

Well there is some skilled involved having a FI car that performs to expectation, that falls on the owners shoulders... who probably doesnt know jack shit about cars except that he wanted a turbo.

exfuckingactly.

to many people just slap a turbo kit on there car/truck/suv and expect them to run great right out of the box on a stock n/a tune. if your spending money building your car whats a couple hundred more bucks to get ever horsepower out of it.

Yup, mostly younger people have this mentality is what i see.... Wanting $10,000 performance for $400.

I personally wouldnt waste time with a turbo. Its a truck, you most likely want it to act like a truck. Going turbo your going to loose just about all of what low end grunt you have. Id go with a Magnacharger or Kenne Bell setup for that truck.

Also, somthing about the turbo being under the car/truck that doesnt sit well with me. Like someone else said, makes it easy to steal. Also, I cant imagine how you would keep snow/slush/salt out of that air filter regardless of how good a "shield" you think you may have installed.

Just my $.02
