Im looking for a 2.7 engine for a 2000 Dodge intrepid. Anyone got any connections for one? Looking to spend around $500 give or take a hundred. Let me know if you know of anything.

Wow, what the heck are these motors made out of. I looked it up on Car-part.com and they are around $1300.00 + and one has 189,000 miles on it :stare :rolf

Dang glad this Sebring POS I am swapping motors in has a 2.5., only $500 at the Jantz.

These motors and chryslers in general suck IMO, sludge bombers.

2.7L is all aluminum, the core alone for scrap would be more than 800 bucks.

the 2.7L had a real problem with sludging, i have seen a few that were in good shape with over 150k, the key was replacing the waterpump at 100k regardless of its condition(comes with a new timing set), new tensioner, frequent PCV valve changes and being on time for oil changes.

Where you going that pays $4 a pound for mixed cast aluminum?

Might I suggest calling local bone yards instead of the internet places. they are always high.. If you wanna pull your own, try Al Schills in Franklin

Was hoping to not have to pull it.

I might have one in the car we have out back...had suspension problems. I'll let you know later tonight. I won't pull it but you can have it pretty cheap.

I think he had typed one too many zeros. Just took a couple cast wheels in yesterday and it was $.43/lb.

I can get an entire Intrepid with the 3.5L for $300-400. Catch is that it's located in NW Minnesota.
