View Full Version : Anyone interested in re-renting my apartment?

So I finally found a larger place for my wife and son. The only problem is that it is available June 1st and our current lease is until the end of July. We can break our lease early for a fee which I can just barely afford, but then we are responsible for re-renting it or paying our last two month's rent (which I can NOT afford in conjunction with rent at the new place.) Therefore I am searching for someone who MAY be interested in renting our apartment, here is the specs:

1 Bedroom
1 Bathroom
Roughly 800 sq. ft
FREE HEAT!!!! Monthly electric bill is approximately $40
Cats allowed, NO dogs
Locked Lobby
2nd story apartment (no annoying footsteps overhead)
Appliances include: fridge/freezer, stove, dishwasher and garbage disposal
2 off-street parking spaces included
Storage spaces available in basement
Coin-operated laundry in basement
Quiet, nice neighborhood in Hales Corners
Easy access to 43/894
Rent is $615
Deposit is only $300

We would also be willing to leave behind our kitchen table, a small couch and may negotiate some other pieces of furniture (for free if you help us out.) Also willing to trade discounted parts/labor for help, ASE and GM certified tech with 10 years experience.

All replies/PM's welcome

Thanks,
Ben

When I bought my house I went through this and thank goodness Bay View Investments found someone who wanted to rent it the very same month and BVI gave me all my escrow back. So nice, hope it works out for you.

If it wasn't a second floor apt, I'd be on it.

GF can't do stairs because of disability and diabetes has screwed up my legs as well. I deal with stairs at work and if I'm on them a lot, I feel it.

If it wasn't a second floor apt, I'd be on it.

I called and talked to the property management, they said it would be okay if I rented out a first floor unit for them. If this is agreeable to you let me know and you can stop in to meet the on-site management and fill out an application.

I was just wondering about the kitchen and how the apartment actually looked. I'm looking for a new place but I'm looking for something that is somewhat of an upgrade to where I'm at.

Not that I advise this or have ever done it, but... a lot of people use their security deposit that they already paid as their last months rent. The laws in Wisconsin make it cost $5000 minimum to actually evict (sp?) someone. Thus if you don't pay your last month, they really can't do *much* to you. Last I checked my apt is not on my credit report, however, if you get evicted I was told it goes on a seprate "report". Not sure if it really matters though. I doubt they would take you to court over 1 months rent either. Maybe just some nasty letters.

This is only what I was told. I never tried it (or plan to). Just wanted to pass the info along.

Thanks for the "non-suggestion" but I don't think I want to risk the negative credit effects an "eviction" could bring.
