Computer gets stuck in start mode

Hey, I have a HP 64 bit Vista Laptop, and sometimes the computer just gets stuck when starting up. The loading bar keeps going from left to right, so I hold the power button, wait a minute, and turn it back on. Then a screen comes up asking if I want to start it in safe mode, however I start it in regular mode, then it works. Any ideas?
