I had gone to portland OR for work last week and took a little trip up to seattle / everett washington.

Below is are pics of seattle, the puget sound, Mt st. helens, and my favorite part the Boeing factory.

I couldnt take pics in the factory on the tour though, i was able to see many pieces of history however... Like the 747 Dream Lifter come in for a landing and unload a tail section for a new 787. These planes were built to haul modular parts for the new 787 specifically. Also got to see the first 787 built and serial #s 3,4,and 5. Also got to see the last 747-400 to be built, the 747-8 will replace it.

The building is the largest in the world by volume and its also houses all 767 and 777 production. The goal by the end of the year is to be able to produce 3 complete 787's per day. Since they have a backorder of 800 of these new planes. The 737 factory is just south of seattle and they currently pump out 3 per week.

Ha no... Unless u consider FSX as my experience. I do have an interest in commercial planes though.

Nice pics Tom. My wife has been out there on business and wants to take me. She just raves about Pike Market and all the fresh Sea food.

Very cool pics. Many of the discs in the Dreamliner engine are forged by the company I work for. Also Pratt Whitney is another customer of ours.

I attended a conf in portland that was work related, and drove 3 hours up there just to see the boeing facilty and take the tour.

It was the wifes el cheapo camera.

I've been to seattle before and up in the space needle, but never been to oregon. Never saw the boeing factory either. Great pics!

What else do you know about the 787? How many people is it supposed to be able to transport and when is it supposed to be in the air?

250 in its biggest form, its the 757 replacement. Its claim to fame is its super long range and all the technilogical advancements.
