I think I am going to pull the trigger and buy one to fill the other vent in my car. just wondering if anyone has one and if they are as slick as they look.

I have one and I love it. It has sooo many different things that you can monitor with them, and it a must for most modded cars. I'll usually watch the knock retard levels and injector duty cycle.

I have one that's just sitting in a box. It is for GM vehicles, not sure what the differences are or if it would work on a mustang. They are pretty sweet though, gives tons of read outs.

what is the "dual". do they just send you two gauges???

Jsho13
04-20-2009, 02:36 PM
dual is two seperate gauges. they send you a splitter cable to run them both

does the obd port power up only when the car is on??? i thought my sct had power as soon as you plug into it??

CobaltSSTuner

all you need to do to hook them up is run a seperate power wire, and plug into the obdII port. Whats also pretty cool is that there are analog wires so if you have a wideband, you can run that into the interceptor as well :)

you can also send them back to the company and they can wire them up seperately, Stealthy1ss has one, and another guy has the other.

You mean like... all of the information that you could want about your car and how it's running?

I guess ... don't buy then one?

It eliminates the need for multiple gauges. You can buy pressure or temp sensors and monitor oil psi and fuel psi for example from one gauge versus 2.

These gauges also have anolag settings in which you could wire up an egt sensor to it and I think you can do the same with a wideband. If anyone wants to go with duals and needs a dual cord I have one. Oh and they also will record 1/4 mile times and trap speeds but it doesn't account for wheels spin. These gauges rock.

I'm not overly worried about the dutycycle my canister purge solnoid is running at. The six guages in my dash, my ears and my ass give me a good over all idea what's goin on. i've fixed enough cars that ran like dog shit with no CEL to know it takes more than a scantool (alls that guage really is) to fix a car.

That being said I've started looking into a wideband as I'd like to do my own tune eventually.

your right, because a knock retard sensor isn't needed....

It isn't. My car doesn't have one. My bike doesn't have one. They had fast cars before all these fancy do-dads.

thats fine, i understand that. But some of these things are helpful, especially when running higher amounts of boost, and for tuning purposes. But I do understand where you are coming from.

Agreed. And I do understand that those types of things are helpful, to some. But most people don't understand the relevance of 10% of the info in the datastream coming from the ALDL.

Those gauges are pretty neat. But, I'm not a big fan of mounted gauges. I try to avoid mounting any more then I absolutely have to. However, you do need the info. I am pretty excited about this. (http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/ot2.php) It's the shizzle to me.

well i finally recieved my gauge. this thing is awesome! waiting for my vent pod to install, but i have been playing with it without it mounted. now i just have to decide what things to monitor and how to set up the alarms. one thing that disappointed was the fact that you have to download the manual for it. not a big deal, but you think they could toss one in the box. other than that, i am very glad that i picked this thing up

thanks for all the advice guys.

i'm suprised it didn't come with a manual. Mine did. and it came with explainations of what everything means lol.

They are pretty amazing, no doubt about that. Especially since if you throw a CEL you can scan it, pull the code, and if its nothing serious, just clear it right on the spot :)

So this gauge has a warning buzzer or lights up if any of the parameters are running bad? Sounds slick if it does.

yeah, you can set up the warning lights to go off if any of the monitored pids reach a level you don't like.

it is awesome!
