the xr handles really nice, they really should have put the 1125r engine in it instead IMO.

They are sexy, sexy, sexy. But...(from what I've read) they are underpowered, shocks are junk, forks are junk, brakes are poor, and HD put 18" wheels on them and no one makes performance tires in 18". And they are expensive. But buy one and stick 10k into it and you will have one helluva bike (that will get spanked buy $4000 used Jap 600's).

Everyone knows any 600cc rocket is faster than any cruiser. You don't need to keep telling us about it.

XR1200 isn't a cruiser.

I don't know what you meant. HD builds a bike and touts it as having all this race bike inspiration, selling it like it's a real hot rot and naming it after one of their race models, then they cover it in boy-racer tinsel. All the looks and none of the performance.

And there are a lot of Yamaha Warrior, V-Max, Suzuki M109, owners that would disagree with you on that.

the rotax engine in that bike would have been a beast. its lighter and devlops so much torque through the powerband it would have been very hard to keep it on the ground hard part would be packaging the cooling system in the narrow form of the xr1200. Investigate the Buell ulysses xb12xt as a option. you can remove the travel bags and have a very similar( or actually better) performance motorcycle without tons of bling.

I think it is a nice looking bike..But i would be hard pressed to buy it for that price.. I think harley did a good job with its intent but in all reality you still have a hybrid sportster (A little under powered and no confert for long diss..) with a heavy price tag!! just my opinion. But yes it is a cool diffrent look:thumbsup

Just like anything else, if you want fast.....put up the cash boys, Harley Horsepower is expensive. Hmmm...just wondering....... cost per HP on a Harley vs. a car..... interesting question.
Oh yeah, if you are taller than 5'10", you'll be uncomfortable on it, in addition you'll look goofy as he!!. :rolf

I seen one of these bikes last fall on the road and had to do a double take and had no idea wtf it was at first, i guessed it to be some kinda victory or honda of some sort till I got along side of it and saw what it was and the profile view and fell in love from there... Cool ass bike!

I like the XR1200, but I would rather own a Nightster.

I wonder if the primary case sticks out as far as a regular sportster. This is a problem when you get into the twisties.

at first I dint really like the bike, then I was at a rally in virginia beach and there was one from one of the local dealers. So i sat and talked to em and sat on the bike and everything. Thing Im not sure I like is the placement of the brake a shifter its almost just like a sport bike. I really like the new fuel injection that lets them put the air filter under the gas tank. It sounds awesome when you rev it, you can hear it suckin in the air. Overall I think its a really cool bike. Im thinkin about pickin one up, just not 100% yet lol
